The people who enjoy modeling are either posting their work or too busy at their jobs to post here often.
The people who complain have all the free time in the world to complain because they don't use their time to be productive.
That being said, this board is in a better state than it used to be, at least in terms of negativity. I'm not an oldfag, but sometimes I like to browse the warosu archive, and some of the shit people used to say on this board was nuts compared to now.

Same, realistic models are nice when you're a noob and need to practice or as a portfolio for entry level work. It gets boring after a while and I'd only do it if it's my job. I'm not an AI fag but realistic models will definitely be the primary target for AI and automation.
