Why do so many talented artists stop drawing? Other artists I've met irl don't have the passion or really the want to draw, paint or whatever. You probably won't unless you are just looking for an excuse to end your life. You need a guide or example of what it means to 'git gud.' The more 'gud' you get the worse you will think you actually are and then you'll be even more depressed. Also, you don't seem to have any actual sense of how long things take either. It could be years before you get decent at drawing. YEARS. Yet, giving yourself one year means you are barely giving yourself enough time and I don't understand why all of you come into something that takes a LOT of time and focus are so fucking impatient.

Not sure if you are setting yourselves up for failure on purpose or the bulk of you are just really stupid.

You will have much more success seeking out help to see what is wrong with you instead.

I'm autistic, with ADHD. I can't focus on trying to get better at all or even come up with anything to draw without just giving up and going back to looking at my phone and doing something else.
I've legitimately never been able to commit myself to any serious hobby and have gotten lazy over the years with my only actual one which is writing and the only reason I'm good at writing is because I wanted people to be able to understand what the fuck I was saying and I wanted to write good stories because I thought I'd never be able to make them in a visual medium, but that's it. I've never been able to commit to a serious routine, schedule, or anything. I just sit in my room online doing basically nothing.
Everything I try doing looks so daunting and impossible. I tried learning Source Filmmaker as a teen and I gave up immediately because it looked too complicated. I tried learning how to make my own games in game maker, gave up immediately and never touched it. Even something like drawing just looks so complex and impossible. This is what it's like for everything I try doing. I don't know what to do anymore.

Is it even worth trying to pursue a career in art in this day and age? I feel that my art is worthless if I can't become a professional but I also know that's it's incredibly unrealistic. I just can't shake the feeling of shame without it being a job though, as if my art is inherently less valuable because of not making a living off of it.
