I admit I'm guilty of being a filthy weeb, but Christ I'm tired of seeing anime inspired cartoons or anime influenced art flooding the art community. it looked different and experimental at the the time of its height. a lot of people flocked to following it during the 2000s because the West was chasing after the "gritty, silly and realistic" trend that sealed into nearly everything. Asia was THE place where it wasnt so evident.

Now what made them special then is just tired and oversaturated today, probably because its such a lucrative system at the moment.
More Asians and artists are starting to complain about it though and ironically, Europeans seem to be the obes that are tryibg to help out, which is probably why you don't see their artwork in the media as much.

Well, luckily for the personalities that hang around /ic, anime and weeabooism is up their alley, and for that manner, this board is more or less a blueboard since everyone these days likes anime.
The real kind of /ic board is one that encourages a very large variety of arts to boost the quality of thinking behind the art. Cute anime does a rather poor job representing the intelligence of the thinking, even if the mechanics to creating it might be sound.
The techniques and the IQ in the people creating it are out of this world, yes, but they have continuously simplified the thought process of its represntation down to blobs, moes and kawaii nonsense in an en effort to connect to the lower end of the intellectual spectrum, because doing so can stop others reaching a higher level of critical thinking.
The anime you see has been reduced to a laughable state as a result because for those that watch it? This cute style does the thinking for you, and all youre left with is nothing really substantial to connect you to your potential IQ, nothing except the material reminding you how cute it is everytime it might become slighty reflective.

Tl:dr. Cute anime is not for the thinking person,
its made for the normies.
