lol. 99% of these guys have their head firmly lodged up their ass and are FAR too arrogant to spare a moment for you. they'll ignore you outright and then when called out claim "well i have a life" or "i just dont have the time to respond to everyone".

There's no fucking way to answer this that will ever satisfy you. The second one especially is a uselessly broad question. I've tried explaining things to begs on /ic/, and they still ask for more or don't get what you're talking about. What you want is understanding to be directly uploaded into your brain, but it doesn't work that way. It's never really a brush or a specific training style, most artists don't give that much of a fuck about their exact tools, it's the artist's skill that's making everything work.
Also who tf would want to respond to everyone that messages them? You're thinking about it from your perspective, not from theirs.

The program they used was most likely ntscqt for the vhs effects. I can tell because I use the program myself. Usually I go for a more subtle vhs effect, but with my example drawing I used a kinda similar setting to what the artist used in this piece. It may not be exact, but that's probably because I exported it relatively small and didn't put as much grain. I didn't know what art of mine to show, so I just randomly picked a joke drawing I made and put it through the program.

I think when it comes to art and having a interest in an artist work, you have to be specific of what you like about it.
Like if all your replies to their posts are "I really love this stuff!" "Looks nice!" then it does get a bit weird/monotonous.
If you are able to specify what you like, then it comes across as genuine, Like "I really like how you used subtle leading lines to point to the hands of your OC" or "Your color palette for this is just really groovy to me for some reason, keep it up!" then you don't look like a bot and you practice you observation skills with art.

Yes, there's a few CSP auto-actions that does it, but personally, it needs further tweaking to look as good.

You can do it manually too, its a bit of a hassle, but not impossible, since all the auto-action does is play a recorded set of actions.

There's a few YT tutorials on how to do it too so you can look it up. It's not as hard as it looks, all it is takinga finished drawing and doing a bunch of shit on top of it to crustify it.

But also, its good to keep in mind the old art style and color style too, keep it near to that, and tadah, its gonna look alright!
