Beta as f*ck.

As least /jp/ tries to steam janny. Fighting back is the first step.

Implying you wouldn't actively troll /jp/ (or multiple boards) into the stratosphere if you had mod powers.

Moot wouldn't care either, like you could tell him "hey d00d today I banned 85 people on /jp/" and he'd probably laugh his ass off and then high five you.

>>"the janitor (not a mod) banned me for X"

Not wrong. Janitors and mods are connected cock to ass 24/7 so they might as well be considered single beings.

Does the SA mod like anime and video games?

>>the only thing that counts is what is being said

I would say this depends on the topic. For certain topics or situations (like this thread) just words aren't enough, due to factors like trust and accountability. That's one of the reasons why /jp/ has the huge problem with drama/meta about board content.

I think that's the time where you really need accountability/identities/reputation, because without that one random Anon has the potential to run the board on his own if he is loud and vocal enough (or if he goes into IRC and talks to a mod enough). It's bad that no actual headcount can be done on /jp/. So in the end one person's agenda can be implemented without taking the opinions/viewpoints of others into consideration (a weakness of 4chan that's shared with regular, traditional forums).

>>10121879,19
>>if you need an identity on an anonymous board for people to notice you or even talk to you

Uhh I think this is where we're having the disconnect. I agree with that. But I mean like, if people are noticing you on their own (without taking tripcodes into consideration) and they are interested in being friends with you, then you go "oh cool, here is my identity and contact info". Then you will be golden. If you use your identity on 4chan, and you are also courteous and nice, then it's even easier to make good friends and cool people will literally contact you on their own.

But my point was that some /jp/ers are simply "wandering anons" without any internet identity or contact info to bust out when appropriate (or they only have a throwaway email like anonjp@gmail.com). That's what will puts them at the big disadvantage when it comes to making friends. Actually this goes for tripcode users with random, throwaway trips as well.

Anyways, identities have its positive uses on 4chan, and they're not intrinsically evil. Moot's vision of 4chan culture isn't quite what you're thinking either; it's like this half-anonymous, half-accountability Facebook integration "please honor your ban" kind of thing.

You're wrong on that last part. Remember, I could still post on other boards with my trip freely (it still works). I choose not to though. I only visit /ghost/ every few weeks out of an old fondness for /jp/.

And the main reason I evaded in 9574683 was because I wanted to seal the deal with my own hands. There never was an original ban for me to evade, but at that point I was all "might as well turn that goofy mod's lie into the truth". I was cool with how things ended up in the end like I said before.

Fake zun!bar was permabanned for CP. Not me. Because really, what else do you get banned for on /jp/?

I've never seen a ban screen before for anything. Janitor/mod if we could discuss this in IRC, then it would be cool too (I'll stop posting if I really was permabanned).

Yeah, from a mod who didn't know what he was talking about. One zun!bar was definitely permabanned for CP. Just not me obviously.

The goal is to post "good content" and relevant, high quality images fall under that category. I'm sure you know this already though d00d.

I can't tell if you're seriously bitter or just being ironic.

Either way the mod make a mistake if you can't tell by now. I'm fine with dropping this trip if I was legit permabanned, but I was not. Although you and a few others do vendetta report every post I make, so I wouldn't be surprised if it happens eventually.

Also I'm not sure what you mean by "wasting 4 years" because I don't even talk about my IRL stuff here. I'm not a NEET.

I think the mod is just joking around. I can still post normally.

Unless he means that I'm about to be PERMABANNED later today or something. But I've never got a permaban message before at all. My IP does not change very frequently.

Or the mod could have simply just made a mistake. I don't know, but I'll talk to him if I ever get a ban message.

The rules don't exist for our benefit in case you haven't figured it out by now. Especially /jp/'s rules.

As for the mod's and janitors, well they haven't figured this out either.

Of course trolling /jp/'s favorite and most on-topic subjects like GUST GAMES and TOUHOU would be hilarious to you, Anon. So funny.

>>9170395,123
You forgot the rest of the story where someone showed the mod in IRC how we always had those threads. Then the mod said "oops you're right, I did screw up", unlocked the thread, and apologized.

And honestly, after reading the last 10 posts here or so I'm gonna say that you and a few others are still butthurt due to the mod giving GUST the final OK. Feel free to prove me wrong though.

Legend also has it that I died overseas and this is someone else posting.

But I've never been banned by a mod since I took up this trip. I've been auto-banned once from posting a pay-per-click link though (some doujin on fileserve). That ban went away a few hours later. I don't think my IP changed, but I also didn't check.

>>9170395,105
Yeah I said that about the filserve link autoban. If it's something dumb like that (it was done to prevent bots I think?) then I'll evade I guess.

I was gonna make a comment that we should have Touhou and visual novel threads in /vg/ and nowhere else. But that would be silly and even hypocritical. Board topic overlap is a good thing anyways. There are no downsides to it. Might suck for people with OCD though.

>>9170395,89
They actually don't report it. You wanna know how I and others can tell? Because random 2D girl pictures get deleted light years faster than /b/ nonsense. That's why this is all screwed up.

I know you two nerds here mass router reported that Nyaurko thread (which is a light novel anyways, right?) and ignored the daily "MIMA!" shitpost spam thread or the buried thread filled with /b/ shitposts. I'm sure others can give examples where a Saten picture sets up a nuclear autism EXPLOSION of reports and janitor/mod activity while /b/ macros in the very same thread get passed over and left alone.

If I had my way I'd make all this 2D otaku culture stuff "on-topic" that way people would finally stop sperging over it and focus on the real problems and shitposts at hand. But we all know that will never happen, right?

>> No.9170395,74 [INTERNAL]  [View]

>>9170395,73
That's exactly my point about all this? The mod doesn't care about the thread even being on-topic. People want to seriously discuss something, so he's letting it happen. And yet on /jp/ a thread like that would be instantly vaporized. Who cares if someone is serious about a topic related to otaku culture here, right? Better delete those pictures of that one 2D girl and ignore those /b/ shitposts in the same thread!

Honestly, I think if the janitor would get his priorities straight, then things would fix itself. People would shitpost less, because they'd be pissed off less. That's how it honestly works. When everyone's happy, then there's no trolling or shitposting at all. I've seen it happen a few weeks ago in the evening.

There's no need for this mass censorship about 2D Girl A or Otaku Culture Topic B. /jp/ doesn't need BS restrictions like that. Just let people talk about it or post it already.

>>This is the appropriate board for the discussion of Japanese visual and light novels.

How is this even an issue when it's one of the few things we have in our rules? If the mod/janitor deletes it, then just repost it until he gets it into his head that it belongs. It's all you can do really; our janitor isn't exactly an expert on otaku culture you know. He doesn't know this stuff.

Also /r/ Sword Art Online threads.
