It's more or less during the day they're like most every other mamono in Zipangu in that they act like a reasonable, gentle natured creature. During the night the masks slips and they turn into a typical Arachne who enjoys bondage and will just ravish you for the fun of it.

TL;DR: They don't keep it a secret so much as they more or less get you to drop your guard during the day so they can breed with you at night and turn you into an emasculated fuckboy. Unless you can turn the tables on her and she'll progressively become more of a tradwife, even during the night.

>Arachnomancy
>A specialized school of mamono magic revolving around Arachne Silk
>Due to the nature of their threads, Arachne are able to imbue their own mana into it to enhance its effects
>This leads to the possibility of it draining energy, levels, or even gaining the properties of Realm Silver
>The most dangerous ( horny ) spell is one where they convert a single thread to a [ Life Thread ] and attach it to their prospective husband, which intensifies the feelings of closeness between the two parties
>It is considered a dangerous spell due to the unmitigated emotional intimacy that is not possible through normal skinship or lovemaking, and couples who have used the spell typically find themselves lost in the throes of passion, unable to be bothered by outside stimuli
>Due to the focus and skill necessary for Aranchnomancy, Ushi-Oni typically do not engage in spell casting, preferring to just 'eat' the men they take for husbands over worrying about such silly things

The distinction between Kejōrō and Jorōgumo is that the latter is written with the kanji for 'Woman' or 'Bride' while the former is written with the one for 'Prostitute'. While they're both cautionary tales about going after strange women ( With the Kejōrō killing men similarly to the Hari Onna ), the only one in the folklore who exclusively hunts horny and stupid young men in brothels and red light districts is still Kejōrō. Funnily enough, them cutting off a lock of hair for their lover is something also in the folklore and she would even go the extra mile if you woo her and tattoo your name onto her skin to show her devotion.
