Anon clung to the outsider as they walked through the festival, enjoying the atmosphere of the night and lights all around. His plan to sternly turn the outsider away kind of went a bit awry. He tried, he really did mind you! He had rehearsed a speech and everything! He was going to send the message that he wasn't looking for any male companionship or anything of that sort, so the outsider would just need to give up and go bug some other rabbit. Unfortunately, before Anon could deliver his speech, the outsider presented him with a confession of love, and a desire to go on a date together to the local festival. Anon's heart fluttered, and he tried to find his words. He knew of the outsider's crush, sure, but to get an outright confession was a bit... He hadn't ever experienced that before, the speech of rejection he had rehearsed so many times in his head evaporated, and all Anon could do was say yes. Mind you, this wasn't because he wanted to fuck guys or anything, it was purely out of politeness. It would've been devastating to destroy the hopeless sap right there with his rejection, the least Anon could do was give him one date. A short little fantasy before he set things straight. Anon took his time picking the right yukata, asking Ringo for advice on the best looking one, and then ignoring her advice when the fat bunny picked the one with mochi on it. Of course she would pick that, did food ever leave her mind? But then again, it did compliment her eyes, and the outsider had mentioned before how beautiful they looked...

The night at the festival was a true day of bliss, as the couple looked through all the stalls and played some of the games. Anon actually was planning to open a stall tonight, but... Somehow this seemed more important. Letting the dumb outsider live out his fantasy, that is. What kind of person picks Seiran of all touhous to pursue anyways? If you were a bunny nut, why not pick Reisen, or Tewi? These cynical thoughts always stuck in Anon's mind, but they kept getting harder and harder to hear throughout the night. When the outsider would buy the two a candied apple to share. When the outsider would try and win a big stuffed kappa for Anon, only to fail, and then Anon himself to win the prize and give it to the outsider! Watching the fireworks together on the open field, holding hands together. Making some light casual jokes at each others' expense and laughing together in the night. And when the outsider held Anon close to him, Anon's face nuzzling his collarbone... A small voice in the back of Anon's head thought that this outsider better thank him for putting up with this gay charade, but Anon couldn't hear it at all. Not through the fireworks, not through the laughter around them, and not through the outsider's beating heart.

Some time had passed, and the outsider continued to visit the stall daily, every now and then offering to bring Anon on a date. Every time Anon would say yes, excited for what new experiences they'd discover together. Anon was still probably going to break up with the outsider and let him know he wasn't gay, he was still going to go after women and do... stuff he guessed. There just was never really a good time to do this. The outsider would be too happy some days, and Anon wouldn't want to crush his spirit. He'd be too busy with customers other days, and just not have the time to have such an important talk. He'd get a bad fortune from the shrine, advising him not to do anything risky. Sometimes the two lovers would just get lost in conversation together, and the hours would pass, and the whole thing would slip Anon's mind.
