With a sickly sweet smile and a few flicks of her wrist, as if she was to dust a neglected shelf, Takane walked off before giving Hana one last look, was it pity… ? Or perhaps some form of worry? Hana couldn’t tell, nor did she care. She doubted she’d have to remember that unpleasant little thing longer than it took to get her revenge on those shitty mountain dwellers.

Hana’s thoughts were interrupted by the voice of the gap youkai as she called her, “Come in, come in Hana-chan, do not let the sun burn out now~”

Gulping, Hana stepped inside the office, closing the door behind her. She could feel the barrier erect itself, it was multilayered judging by the feeling she got but there was no way to tell its makeup without examining it with time she didn’t have.

Yukari’s office was a very warm affair, blending more Gensokyian aspects like some of the decorations and smell of the incense burning with the outsider-esque furniture that contrasted without clashing. She avoided looking too deeply into her eyes, as always, they hid a depth that made Hana shutter.

As Hana sat down Yukari’s face was outwardly all smiles, hell she may have even been feeling truly happy for reasons that eluded Hana entirely. Hana felt like she was being stared at like she was an object for sale, but still she tried to remember her manners. After all, she was the one that called this meeting, “Thank you for seeing me Yukari-san…” Hana’s voice came out small, she forcefully rectified that, “I was hoping to discuss-“

It seemed that Takane wasn’t the only one suffering today, “Your father, yes? Ran told me as such that you were seeking some sort of dialogue about it. If you wanted to talk about him, we could meet in much more comfortable settings”

Yukari leaned forward, folding her fingers together as she leans forward on her desk, as cluttered as it was with papers and little trinkets that lined the edges it did nothing to obscure her access to Hana should she feel the need to strike. She snapped her fingers, for what Hana couldn’t tell. Though if fear had a smell, she could smell it as the aura in the room changed dramatically and the hiss of the incense burner took on a life of its own. Hana felt her body react as in fear as Yukari continued with every trace of amusement in her voice, “You know I am quite amused you sought me out yourself, I would be greatly hurt if you thought me as some unapproachable monster. We have had our spats and I am sure I didn’t leave a good impression, but I do care about you, my dear”

If Yukari was good at one thing it was catching Hana off guard, “T-that’s not something I care about at all, this isn’t some social visit! You have my father kidnapped and you do horrible things to him all the time, if you cared about me, you wouldn’t have done any of this!”

Yukari’s eyes shine with a mischievous glint, “I would not do what? Kidnap him? harm him? force him into slavery? Destroy his previous relationships?”

Yukari sighed out the fatigue as she watched the running of her little project though a gap from the comfort of her bedroom, some cheap bag of chips on her side, perfectly at hand's length, sitting next to a bottle of chilled way-too-sweet western fizzy soda. She herself was dressed in a rather unflattering gray sweatsuit wrinkled, stained, and partially pulled up exposing her belly which she idly scratched.

She yawned out, it'd been six months or so since she got that building made, organized the nature of the place, worked overtime on staffing it via favors and bribes, and sent some not so subtle invitations to the more influential. She couldn't allow anyone to interfere at such a critical juncture after all, it was already close to winter after all, the sacred time when she went for R&R.

Her futon was calling her name already, her yearly reservations to a string of luxurious hotels in tropical areas were set, there were no real threat of minor inconveniences like wars or plagues on the horizon for this year to sabotage her vacations. Still, she had to accomplish her goals here, it irked her that it was taking longer than she thought it would and her calculations failed to account for certain factors.

As she watched one of the Kappa drop a glob of dough destined for the deep fryer she'd already calculated the monetary value lost in the time and material wasted, cleaning products used, price of the electricity wasted, and the cost it'd take to replace the product she'd let burn cleaning that mess and missing the window to take out the other frying items. Honestly, good help was so hard to come by these days~

She took a sip of the sweet soda, relishing the popping against her tongue against the taste of the potato chip that inter-played nicely together in a way that even those outrageously skilled chefs she frequented on her vacations couldn't quite match. She stretched as she sat up, letting the crumbs fall where they may, locations that she knew off-hand already before they settled, and stood up. A gap formed underneath the soda transporting to an icebox approximately 180 miles away in a little house she owned that she liked visiting when she was feeling quaint.

She walked to the restroom, washing off her hands the manual way to clean the grease form her hands, and washing her face the same way. She felt prideful at this little action, it was so like her to take the time to understand those lesser than her after all~ She just didn't understand all the backlash she faced at times, then again it just like those short lived and mentally inferior beings and she just couldn't hate them for it.

Dressed in her favorite purple dress, her daily wear, laundered to perfection by Ran... She sighed again as she changed, this little project of hers was taking its toll on Ran rather heavily, her pet shikigami was acting out unlike she's ever done before in her service to her. This project was taking its toll on everyone it seemed, she NEEDED it to go off without a hitch as there was no other alternative and she needed to trust Ran without issue.

The mental stresses were building up again as she manipulated the boundary between wrinkled and smooth clothes as she examined herself in the mirror, finding no faults. She just couldn't trust anyone to do the job she needed but her, not when things were so delicate, why couldn't Ran see past her own emotions and misplaced 'ethics'? She was a youkai for crying out loud! Not some motherly fox who let her emotions cloud her judgement! She swears she should never have let her adopt that little kitten...

Yukari grimaced as she thought back to everything, she tried her hardest to warn that buffoon of an outsider about Reimu, even if she DID bring him over form the outside because she thought he was suited to the task it wasn't like she was a slave driver or anything. All she did was make sure that he made it to the shrine that spring day, she couldn't predict the heart entirely nor was it her concern.

It was the same with that daughter of his, sure she may have spurred her on to committing what those busybody Yama call a 'sin' but it was her own choice! Sure she may or may not have burned every bridge the poor fool had, but it was for his own good.

That was something nobody understood, everything was for their own good! The threats and blackmail to Anon, Ran, Aya, and the rest were all for their own good as well! She put her favorite poofy hat and gathered her parasol after slipping on her shoes. Didn't they understand that all this was to fix Reimu, make Anon rekindle his love, get Hana to become the miko she needed for the future, and ensure that the shrine itself prospers for generations to come?

It was obvious you know, she all but explained it to everyone she came across... Once again she sighed, this time to focus herself as she put her game-face on. As the gap before her opened she let one last whimsical thought fly, "Noblesse oblige was truly her calling card"
