I'm guilty of that sometimes, I'll post shit like "[X] Jump in the lake" or "post it on the jay brah" out of context just to see if there's any other ex /jp/ers around. It was always considered heretical to spread /jp/ culture to the outside but whatever, that period of my life is gone now, can't ever go back to those dreamlike days.

I know trevor was using this before it was popular on the site at large but I don't know where he got it from. I've never used /sp/ much so yeah maybe it came from there. Here we had Meido (which basically referred to AoC) -> NSJ -> Janny, as shitposter/janitor relations worsened over time. I guess Janny stuck. I liked the NSJ characterization though.

Can confirm, I was also on /prog/ before /jp/ was created. SICP copypastas with Touhou characters and the TOUHOU + ZUN Microsystems merger jokes are from /prog/ iirc.

Wojak is an interesting case. "Feels guy" was definitely a meme on /jp/ before it was common on 4chan, but I don't think it actually originated here, nor do I remember the name wojak being used until later when it was more popular on other boards too. I think it must have come from a foreign language chan. Spurdo was also posted here frequently before becoming popular on other boards, I think /jp/ had a higher concentration of ESL posters from non-English speaking countries than other boards.
