I would call it difficult, I specified *mind-bendingly* difficult. You misunderstood my intention, which I guess reflects difficulty in reading comprehension given that the rest of my post is specifying how indeed passages like that are difficult. The meaning of "mind-bendingly" is to acknowledge that it's not something one would look at and fall into despair with 0 comprehension; even with just a superficial understanding of the vocabulary and no experience with the different way of writing grammar one can attempt to wade through it. I say this only to distinguish from what I *would* call mind-bendingly difficult which is like Buddhist texts written in 草書体 or what have you.

It varies by company. The CV I sent out with as a neet just listed my high school and nothing else, it was there as a formality. Most of the time they only care about your performance on the test and nothing else, although I may be out of date on that since I haven't applied myself in a number of years. VN publishers are the most chill of course, and J-novel is really chill as well, though I remember Frontwing having a really comically difficult test. I don't think Yen Press / Seven Seas are particularly gatekeepy; my friends have gotten into them as well without noting any problems.
