Of course, anon. Idolfags, the ones who don't mutate into twisted freaks and keep the core idea, are in the idol game to see someone grow, and support them on their way to the top.
It's what makes idols different from band members, or actors, or most other types of talent. Idols are, by nature, connected to their fans in a way that is closer. They go to the top from the bottom, and the only way up is talent, hard work, and cultivating your fans into a group that will support you.
Incidentally, that's why so many idols went to the way of "seiso and innocent" to draw support. Guys are more likely to support a girl if it feels like they can protect them. It's not impossible for a non-seiso idol to succeed, as we've seen so far in Hololive, but that was an easy way for starting talent to find a dedicated supporter quick.
But Hololive has a unique place, due to the Vtuber aspect. They can draw people in to support them, but the idea of "purity" isn't so dependent on forcing a talent to the standard mold of "attractive Japanese teen girl with a good heart at the core of their gimmick." Seperating the person from the body offers a greater range of people the chance to let their hearts shine.
And that is the heart of idols, and why Hololive is the greatest version of the medium. It strips away the pageantry of the physical and replaces it with the pageantry of the soul. Women and men who would never have a chance, or lost their way, or just didn't make it: they can all let their hearts shine through to us in a way that can't be done otherwise.
And that's why I love Polka. Even though a language barrier makes it harder, her heart shines through, and there's a good person in that heart.
