But seriously, numbers don't matter as long as holos are doing fine. When numbers drop so far that they're putting holos in danger, that's a fucking problem, especially this fast. If youtube makes moves that could endanger holosthat's obviously a problem, and seeing it resolved is good news. I don't about whether my oshi has bigger number than other holos or whether the current no1 of hololive is Pekora, FBK, Marine, Subaru or anyone else. But hololive is still a business and they need good numbers to stay in business. Because good numbers bring good alghoritm which mean more audience, more exposure, more sponsorships and more money. While there are a lot of other vtubers who function with much lower numbers, bigger numbers means more stability. Hololive is also more dependant on numbers that a smaller company or indies because they need bigger numbers to keep operating on this scale. Niji has a much bigger parent company that can shield them, unlike Cover
tldr, numbers are a non concern as long as hololive curent state as a business isn't endangered
