The AKB management people were at least smart enough to know the name couldn't carry them forever and they would need to promote a new group and make that a set of groups up so they could take AKB's place.
Up-Front has been trying to push Momusu since forever and it's been stagnant for years. Members sticking around until management tells them to move the fuck on doesn't help refresh their image either.

At the same time, at least H!P makes enough money to survive. They could probably have more success if they would let another group be the flagship, but holy shit MM fags get mega buttblasted when MM isn't #1.
