Countless human villagers ran in panic. In just moments the village had exploded into chaos, and become warped. Only the most outlying sections or adjacent structures such as the Myouren temple had remained unscathed.

Seiga watched the masses churning, trying to get out of harm's way as soon as possible. The entire village had been surrounded by a barrier as well, a dark blue and spotted with stars, and while she had seen members of the Myouren temple retrieving the villagers and doubtless they had a way out of the barrier she suspected they wouldn’t want her escaping.

The barrier reminded Seiga of a similar trick that the water god assassin from two decades ago had used. Except the layers of the barrier were micrometers thick, interlaced with burning plasma, and traveled underneath the village, a part of her was tempted to move upwards to the branches of the trees, but she didn’t want to get caught up in another fight which didn’t guarantee escape.

In the end, she was left with one option, to break through the barrier at its weakest point using brute force. Coming ever closer to that said weak point and judging by the theme of the barrier, Seiga guessed it was that troublesome Vengeful Spirit that had assaulted her a short while back.

Floating into the air, Seiga could see her. A one-time magician turned Vengeful Spirit grabbed in blue and with flowing green hair. Behind the spirit, a hexagonal structure, that reminded Seiga of the black and white witch’s Hakkero, flew in the air, no doubt the thing keeping the barrier intact.

The two call-out at the same time.

“[Celestial Orrery]!”

“Yoshika!~”

Mima’s Orrery familiars summon in around her, planets against the backdrop of the star field with Mima as their sun.

Just in time for Yoshika to arrive, bursting from the ground and hurling herself towards Mima.
Mima barely dodged Yoshika’s bite, and Seiga smiled. Her biggest mistake in their last encounter was not having her spirit eating Jiangshi on her.

Launching a wave of Danmaku, followed by lasers at the vengeful spirit, trying to force her towards Yoshika. In response, Mima’s Orrey spheres forced a purple net-like barrier between the four of them, before launching themselves like a net towards Yoshika, forcing the Jiangshi away as she turned to Seiga.

Mima smiled, even if her plan of trapping the hermit in with her Orrery’s didn’t work she had managed to foil the hermit’s own plan of feeding her to a Jiangshi.

Having forced a gap between Mima and her Orrery, Seiga removes her hairpin and charges Mima. Although Seiga isn’t what would be called a melee specialist, her hairpin could make holes in any object, humans and spirits included. Even with it being highly unlikely she would be able to kill Mima, all she needed was a few seconds in order to carve through the barrier Mima had constructed around the Human Village.

Mima, realizing what the wicked Hermit is doing, swings forward with her staff twirling it and unleashing Danmaku bullets as she does so.

Seiga narrowly dodges the two swipes of Mima's wand, moving around and behind her as she holds her hairpin-like a dagger. With the distance between them only half a meter, Seiga takes her chance to end the fight in a single blow, stabbing forward with her hairpin.

Mima reacts, swiping at Seiga with a blood-stained knife, forcing the Hermit to retreat again, and then following up with two blasts from her orrery spheres, even as Yoshika continues to harass them.

Seiga sweat as she retreated along the perimeter of the barrier, Hermits were superior physically to a Witch, but her opponent had anticipated that, bringing a grudge-filled knife. Even without it piercing her skin, Seiga knew in her spin that the knife Mima wielded held a grudge both against 'humans' and 'humanity' nothing else would cause the reptile part of her brain to scream.

Yoshika throws herself towards the four orbs, losing half a foot in the process but manages to grasp onto an Orrery Sphere, wrestling with it, before shoving it into her mouth.
A smile breaks out on Seiga’s face. “Yoshika here!”
The remaining three Orrery’s not held in Yoshika’s mouth try to intercept her, firing lasers and bullets as she hurls her body towards her master.

But of course, Seiga never needed the orb intact. “Bite!”
Yoshika’s jaw slams into the miniature star, and Seiga can only think one thing as Mima’s orrery sphere detonates right next to Mima’s star field barrier, Seiga flexes her finger. "Consumed spirit release."

The barrier shatters with a boom, breaking off into glass-like shards of magic. Seiga forces herself through the explosion, scorching her features.

But before she’s able to escape the ghost's grasp, Mima shoots forward in a burst of energy. “Get back here!” she yells, grabbing the hermit by the hermit by her loose, burnt hair.
