Because /b/ and how popular it is. Most of the threads there at any given time are either "doubles choose my starter/name my rival", "pokeporn thread", "furry thread", "pokegirl thread", "go to omegle and pretend you're an Abra", "you laugh you lose" all all other kinds of /b/ shit. Hell, I've seen countless threads made by people who stated that they stopped browsing /b/ after /vp/ was made.

Touhou is not at the same popularity or content level as Pokemon. The only people who barely know about it probably only do so because some faggot was spamming Cirno on their threads on /b/, because of a shitty IOSYS video or some crap like that.

Now, well. Click /vp/ and take a look at its front page. Now imagine that all of those threads are about Touhou. Do you REALLY want a board like that? try pooshlmer first before suggesting that to moot
