Yukari's progression gotta be my favorite part of this entire project, it's like watching someone slowly peeling an onion: they show you this shit onion and you say "yeah, that's an ordinary onion. Nothing much about it." Then they start peeling it and it's so fucking rotted in the inside, and it's just so entrancing to see how deep the rot goes. It took 17 threads to get to the core of the gargantuan issue that backs her actions and behavior, and though hardly justified, explain and generate empathy; all while hints were nicely sprinkled throughout the story.
that coupled with Hana's erecting layer upon layer around herself to hide her trauma and pain, to the point she joins the enemy to try suffocating the traumas; and Reimu's struggle to peel the many layers of her reputation and of her own personality, just so she can reform her core identity and make up for those she loves...
hard doubt it was all planned, but I love where this journey took us. Fucking amazing!
