Just keep gaining vocab and keep doing attentive listening I guess. There's never been any point where it just clicks or anything for me or anything, it seems to just keep building.

Feels like its progressing in the exact same way as reading is. Though I learned kana years ago, I was reading it very slowly and thinking about each kana piece by piece. Now I've almost gotten to the point of being able to read it as fast as my eyes parse it (like with English). But then kanji lmao.
