Whenever someone asks me what language I know (or partially know), I always tell them "Only English" because of the social stigma that is applied to people who know or want to know Japanese. I took Japanese in uni for 3 years, and up until the last year it was full of wapanese faggots who wanted to learn it "to play videogames" or "to watch cartoons" or "to read comic books". Goddamn, I wanted to learn it for business reasons (father owns a business that operates in East Asia, bits of Europe, and Canada) and didn't even know what anime was until I came to class.

Why did you guys learn Japanese?
