Or a gentleman's bar. Or an izakaya. Or even at home around the couch with friends. Fact of the matter is, with the appropriate blood alcohol level, which is different for everyone, nerves will be eased, and a relaxing atmosphere will be created for everyone to enjoy themselves.

A problem would probably only arise if alcohol tolerance levels differ greatly.
