How do you intimidate a 1000+ year old crow tengu you have bound and tied in your living room? Well in all honesty Hana had no idea, its not like she didn’t think that far ahead or anything! Its just… Well usually the way to scare a youkai was too beat them around a bit, once you establish that you’re the more powerful one they’ll eat out the palm of your hand while you kick them in the ribs.

In the case of the bird, well... She certainly didn’t look scared, even all bound up with the double dogs giving her best growls periodically. Aya simply glanced between them while keeping her eyes away from Hana’s own. Hana had met them on occasion, as she sat on the other side of the small table that was bare of all but a small basket of mandarins and a candle that sat between them.

Under the warm light of the lamps on the wall and the candle that blazed brightly Hana could make out something behind her eyes as they sat in relative silence. Though its nature eluded her, it wasn’t fear or even anger. Despite the lack of knowledge as to the true nature of the emotion hidden behind the crow tengu’s eyes, Hana had already wasted too much time on staring her down and letting Aunn’s… terrifying? Display of aggression play out.

Finally Hana spoke, her voice in her professional exterminator mode; a voice utterly devoid of levity and with an underlying coldness to it, “Shameimaru-san, I’ll make this simple. You have information I want about that youkai fox that runs that damn den of evil.”

Hana reaches into her pouch, pulling out a sizable number of seals and placing them on the table directly in front of her. After a moment of letting Aya eye them and discerning their true nature she spoke again, “I don’t have time to play guessing games with you simply speaking, for every lie I or my friend detects I’ll place another seal on you.”

Aya squinted at Hana, it didn’t exactly seem like a glare but… she returned it with one, “You’ve been a thorn in my father’s and my own side for quite a while, printing out that slander non-stop for years, even…” Rage was flaring in the back of Hana’s mind now that she remembered it all, “Even printing those lies about me and my father’s situation! Making everyone believe outright lies about how horrible we were!”

Hana quelled that anger quickly, not letting it influence her conscious mind and cooling her voice, “It takes four seals to destroy the spirit of a weakling youkai, around 6 is they’re particularly feisty, I’ve never had the chance to see how much it’d take to destroy a tengu. I’m very curious to find out.”

With that threat out of the way Hana could see a sort of wariness in the tengu’s eyes, well it wasn’t fear, but good enough. She’d make the fear come later if it was needed. Hana glanced at Aunn who caught the glance and followed Hana’s eyes down to the tengu, Aunn nodded.

One of the Aunn’s pranced off with a “Right away, I’ll get the tea!” Hana wanted to facepalm or shout something. Instead, with an outward calm she looked at the Aunn left in the living room who returned her gaze with a big happy expression as if she wanted to be praised. Hana sighed, “T-thank you for getting the tea ready, but I meant the gag, just take it off Shameimaru-san already, please!”

With an ‘ah!’ Aunn leaned down and loosed the cloth gag, Hana could practically see the repressed smirk on Aya’s face as the atmosphere was blown away by that happy-go-lucky pup. Hana wasn’t one to miss a beat at this juncture, she’d been humiliated worse after all.

Readopting her exterminator voice Hana tried her best to recover, “Shamimaru-san, my first question to you i-“

Suddenly Aya very nearly slammed her head onto the table and with a loud nearly squawking voice exclaimed, “On behalf of the Bunbunmaru and this humble reporter I ask your forgiveness for all I’ve done to wrong you and your familyandiknowitisn’tenoughtomerelyaskforgivenesswithwordsbu-“

This time it was Hana’s turn interrupt, she was completely thrown off guard by this, “S-shut up I get it, I get it! I can’t even understand you!”

Aya lifted her head, looking into Hana’s eyes, whatever fell mood came over the tengu was clearly enough to put both Hana and Aunn in a state of confusion… Was… Was Aya actually crying?! A sniff left the crow tengu’s nose as her eyes were waterlogged and she suddenly burst into tears, letting out a loud sob as she choked out, ‘I’m swrry I’m swrry I did dat pwease don hate me~!’
