>gura gets somewhat emotional and starts tearing up at the old images. after all, she has been with these girls for 10 whole years. she finishes the binder, and is about to put it away when a laminated photo (from the folder) falls out of the binder. she picks it up and there's some red writing on it, "to gura, love you! thank you for everything, xoxo". she turns it around and there she is. amelia watson. gura had fallen asleep on her shoulder during the shinkansen trip back to tokyo, on the final day of the jp vacation, and ame had taken the opportunity to snap a cute selfie, with her lips lightly pressed against guras forehead.
>then it all clicks. it was HER. the woman on she met, that was amelia. gura, in a frenzy, immediately grabs her raincoat and rushes to that very same street. she calls a cab, the rain is falling even harder now, gura recalls the weather report saying a tier S typhoon is making landfall tonight.
>the cab driver tells her that he can't go any further, as a few trees have fallen over in front of them. gura thanks him, and runs out. the water is up to her ankles. the rain is basically bitchslapping her in the face. her clothes are soaked, her makeup a mess.
>she finally gets to the street where she met amelia. it's empty. there's not even a single car. just the monotonous chorus of rainfall upon the cold asphalt road.
>gura realizes her stupidity. it's been 20 years and she hasn't learned a thing. why would amelia even remember who she was suddenly, and even if she did - why would she come back here during a typhoon? she could've just called her, or something. she breaks down crying, the water now up to her knees.
>suddenly, the rain stops. gura looks up, and there's a white umbrella raised above her head. quickly jerking around, gura sees her. she's looking down at her, with that same smile that she came to fall so deeply in love with. even though she was visibly shaking from the cold rainwater, just for that very moment, she felt warm. the warmest she's felt in the last 20 years. because finally, after 20 years, her sunshine has returned.

this honestly isnt too far removed from reality. besides the fact that the most likely one would be marriage and a happy ending, this is a close contender for second.

does anyone think that gura is literally still in holoEN because of ame?
she's literally found her true love. she's someone who has been stripped and depraved of any social interaction and intimacy. never dated anyone, have had very few friends that have been all virtual and have abandoned her -> had nobody to play with for BL3.
she's that awkward nerdy girl that is a major introvert; people probably found her easy to pick on early in her life and that trauma has scarred her permanently.
so she retreats to make cute and funny anime meme music, a community and place where she'll be accepted for who she is. or at least who she tries to be.
everything is going fine and holoEN auditions come out. she gets in, and there in that discord group the manager of holoEN introduces each of the members to one another.
time zone differences mean that ame, gura, and ina spend most of their time together. ina is a really busy person whereas ame and gura are just homebodies that stream and make videos all the time, so they naturally play more often.
they get closer and share stories about themselves, gura finds someone that she can deeply relate to: a person that, like her, shares the same longing for social interaction and friendship. ame, however, has had her fair share of intimate romance, and that is not what she seeks with gura. she just wants a really close friend to have fun with and talk to.
gura, however, is devoid of any romantic or genuine social experience. she begins to project this maternal role onto ame. she becomes infatuated with her, spending all of her off-stream time, if possible, to play with her or to talk to her. she checks her discord dms with her every 10-20 minutes. when she goes to bed, she stares at the chat logs with her in bed, smiling ear to ear.
anyway, before i go on a tangent. i feel as if gura has finally found that special someone. she keeps her sane, she keeps her even keel, she keeps her ship floating during even the heaviest of storms.
when they debut, ame feels this urge to bridge out with others, and encourages gura to do so as well. they're a 5 man gen after all. gura is also excited to bond closer with the others - but ame is for her. she's too relatable.
you can see it. how gura and ame interact with the other members excluding each other, it's awkward, clunky, artificial, and screams inauthentic. but they're getting there, their relationship with the others are improving and building.
but every night, every moment off-stream, the two relegate themselves to hanging out with each other. they're probably as close as childhood friends of 10 years, now.
when gura exploded in popularity and took on the mantle of hololive, shouldering unthinkable pressure that she did not sign up for.. she probably wanted to graduate. she wanted to escape. she's too used to the stress, although self-imposed, of other people and their judgements, labels. what will they think of me if i dont do X, or dont post Y?
ame probably was there to comfort her. support her. she knew how gura felt, she's been there before - when she had to drop out, when that someone passed away.
gura gets in the tracing scandal - is distraught and distressed, immediately regressing to her past tendencies - ame is there again.
ame is the one keeping gura sane, and maintaining her hope in hololive. shes the one that allows gura to come to stream every day happy, deriving enjoyment from this monotonous arrangement.
why do they constantly reference the other during solo streams? they're always on the others mind. they can't get them out. its embedded within them. they've become a part of the other. inseparable, bound by destiny.
their relationship further progresses, and the mc atlantis collab + mc moona tour + a way out + 51 collab really just fucking pushed it over the top. you can tell how comfortable gura is near ame now, and vise versa. ame even tweeted that her face was hurting from all the laughing, and that gura only ever leaks HER when she collabs with ame or does a solo membership stream.
a way out was a masterpiece, the best holoEN streams yet. the game itself was amazing, but it was thet characters (gurame) and the parallels that were drew between the two, that really helped to flesh out and proliferate the authenticity of the entire experience. not to mention that, again, gurame was doing what gurame did best. in fact, during the last scene, gura actually says "ame, please, i want to separate you from the character.." demonstrating how frail and sensitive she is emotionally, how scarred she is. she's afraid of possibly upsetting their friendship over such a small situation that was literally part of the game. that's how you know how deeply she treasures ame, to break kayfabe like that.

this is literally what a perfect, synergistic relationship looks like. gurame are on the same wavelength, they have that natural chemistry where they can just make the other happy and laugh easily (see: how many laughs/min they have with each other vs. with others). theyre always namedropping each other on solo streams, always thinking about one another. gura even hallucinated and thought ame was in chat multiple times during her solo phasmo stream.
this is just the beginning, too. princess bride watchalong collab, a hat in time collab, karaoke duet collab. gurame isnt stopping. its starting to snowball. by mid-next year, they'll have moved in together and (un)officially have started dating.
