Pekora's and Iroha's playthrough of Remake is fucked because both the narrative AND the metanarrative of the R series only make any sense if you played the original.
>for Remake in a meta sense, wishes of the FF fans for the remake to be a 1:1 recreation of the original makes the plot ghosts enforce the original plot, while in-universe they are there to make sure nothing changes because that means the Planet will be saved, and they are just a defense mechanism like the Weapons
>for Rebirth, after the characters are "freed" from destiny, so the meta narrative is that the fans' desires to save Zack and Aerith creates the other errant worlds, while in-universe it's Aerith's desire to save Zack ("that wind, it was you wasn't it?") and Cloud's desire to save Aerith that does it
While for Iroha it's going to be a bunch of random people she doesn't know showing up and scenes that she hasn't seen or has no context for will be flashing on-screen for 40 minutes at the end of either game.
