I've been born and raised catholic but lost faith as a teen. I've been trying really hard to seek God and prove myself wrong, even dabbled in dark magics to see if "they work" with the logic if the Devil exists, so does God. I have tempted the elemental and the profane and taunted them to affect my life in a negative way to no avail. Nothing affects my cold athiest heart. However, a decade and a half later I realized something, while high on LSD mind you; Evil is the attempt to "complete" the image of God, mortal men trying to trace the dots to create a clear picture of His Mysteries. I'm still not sure if I believe, and I probably don't, but I've started coming back to church because why not, right?

And now that I think about it, the devil is the "power of the NOW", aka refusing to "sacrifice" for immediate and material gain, who mind you, will fuck you up in the future. SACRIFICE is suffering through the present for a future instead of satiating the baser, more animal, instinct. Too bad I realized this late in my life.
