It has been steadily below freezing for a month now.

I wish. It's around 50F or 10C. It gets colder sometimes, but at this rate I doubt it'll even drop below freezing. I really hoped it'd snow this year. I want to live somewhere with regular snow.

No, not really. In Phoenix it's supposed to get down to 65F/18C on Monday, but then it looks like it's going back up. Today was 75F/23C. It's normally colder than this.

Is this real? At least minor frostbites and slight hypothermia don't feel particularly nasty during the actual exposure. The afflicted body parts just go numb. Why would the sense of discomfort suddenly come back when the condition worsens?
