There's nothing wrong with being "normal", but there certainly is a problem with being a "normalfag".

Being "normal" could be defined as someone not especially being different from a standard, stereotypical man or a woman with stereotypical preferences. For example a man whose hobby is cars, and that wants to have a wife/children. However, that has nothing to do with normalfaggotry. Being outgoing, an extrovert or whatever doesn't make a normalfag either, if anything a "normal person". Normalfaggotry is when "ooohh loook he watches anime what a loooser!", "he doesn't go to partes! what a looooser!" - basically, fucking douchebag assholes. Normal person will not judge you for what you prefer doing, or like, but a normalfaggot will. Hence, the "faggot" postfix. I found most people I had contact with to be more than anything interested when I tell them a lot about the whole "otaku" stuff, and asked they don't think of it as anything overly weird or creepy, as long as you act passionate about, not thinking that someone will think of it as creepy or something, unless you get into the whole sexual side of otaku things. People usually treat anything sexual as creepy/weird if it doesn't involve very common things, and hotgluing figures is not really something you talk to people about.

As one person used to say, "the spaghetti in the eye of the beholder".

Also, melonpan is just making videos for laughs, and trying to judge "normality" or whatever from it is a little silly. He's just having fun doing this shit.
