Question to drawfags with shaky hands: What do you guys prefer doing with your outlines? Do you like to keep them rough and sketchy? Or do you try to do clean lineart? I tried clean lines, but it always looks so stupid, because I can never make them perfectly rounded, they always end up looking deformed.

If I remember right, that's supposed to be a new mascot, Happy, which is notorious for its enormous, perfectly spherical fish eyes and gigantic set of human teeth in a mouth that takes up nearly the entirety of its body. For obvious reasons, it wasn't received very well.

All it comes down to is my own lack of skills in production (there's a lot of well-produced shoegaze songs with distinct instruments while maintaining the atmospheric feel). Currently what it looks like is just one single track with all the instruments on it, EQ'd poorly and with too much reverb, which is where the muddy sound comes from. Any good resources for digital painting?

I've had access to lots of good programs lately and mostly my lineart is fine but its the coloring which comes out quite flat. I'm not sure I have the patience but I want to put myself through this, too. I'm kinda at a dead end.

Though, most of the completely inept people decide not to go to cons at all. The vast majority of people you'll see in a big con will just be normies and casuals.

You should try it out if your work is good. If it's bad, you're just going to get ignored entirely for the better part of 3 days and it'll be really embarrassing. I've seen AA tables that get 0 customers, and it's really depressing when they're sitting there with their dead eyes, pretending to smile while forcing back tears. I decided that after the last game I quickly made and drawing some things to go back to my jellyfish game.

I collected a bunch of colors that fitted together and looked nice and I've just been painting assets for it. So far it's being going okay and the lighting means I can tint all the characters green to blend in better.

I just wish I were good at level design. It's tricky making levels continue to be interesting and trying to avoid constant fetch quests.

you can go with intuos pen. it's $79, though it's pretty small.

another option is intuos pen and touch, the small one costs $99. again, small, this one includes touchscreen like support for moving and manipulating the canvas. sai fails at using the touch stuff, but ps works fine. it also has an eraser unlike the regular pen version.

medium size costs $199 so probably a bit too much if you're trying to fit under 100. the size helps though.

I'm working with a Huion H610PRO. Works pretty good when compared to my past Intuos. It's got some good pen pressure settings, and costs in the 60-70 USD range if you're getting it from Amazon. The only con is that the plastic is kinda cheap and the pens have to be recharged. Other than that the drivers are pretty solid and won't fuck up every fourteen seconds.

I swear to fucking christ I'm going to lose my fucking mind. I tried installing this fucking tablet (Wacom Intuos Pen & Touch) 2 hours ago and right away it tells me "cannot install "whatever driver name" driver is unsigned and unverified blah blah".

Every time I click on tablet properties I get "A supported tablet was not found on this system". Lo and be fucking hold I go to device manager and see a yellow exclamation mark with the message "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device". Yet what the fuck am I supposed to do? I tried both driver packages on the site and CD that came with it. I've gone into System32 myself and deleted the drivers manually. I've gone into services and restarted the drivers multiple times. I've restarted my computer multiple times. The one shimmer of hope I did have was when I manually deleted the drives from System32 and the tablet was recognizing my pen and my touch. But then the "tablet setup" comes up and installs, and then I'm fucked in the ass all over again.

Actually it can... Windows 7 and 8 require a program or driver have a security certificate to run. It's a "security" feature. The only way to bypass that is to disable the need in test mode. Which needs admin privileges to enable anyways..
