I enjoyed keeping up with it, I'm curious to see how it ends but I don't think I'll like it more than GouSotsu (I don't like GouSotsu all THAT much either but I think It's fine). Meguri to me personally Is a lot worse when you look at It through a vaccuum but with GouSotsu's existance in mind I enjoy it. Plus I also just really like the GouSotsu artstyle so seeing it in a manga style Is usually a delight for me.

It peaked for me during the Mion/Shion arc, I even got a physical for it ^^

Speaking of things people are excited for, Its a long way away still but I'm very excited for when EP 2 of the Umineko stage play will eventually get subbed by fans but the wait is agonizing. Has anyone here watched the first EP of the stage play? I really loved It, It's surprisingly well made. I hope they do get to make Alliance as well at some point because It's my favorite EP.

Yes, their relationship, at this point in time, is excessive and toxic. But that doesn't mean that the two characters are forever going to remain that way, and that their relationship will eternally be unhealthy and toxic, especially as they become older and more mature.

The whole final episode pretty much spells it out that they'll be able to maintain their connection even if they go their separate ways, and that they don't need to be codependent to maintain a close bond.

That was a good call. Besides, Umineko really doesn't spoil that much of Higurashi's main plot aside from some minor details and references here and there.
And contrary to what some people may want you to believe, Higurashi isn't about Rika first and foremost at all. Knowing about her role in the plot beforehand won't impede your experience with most of the major arcs at all.
