So what is with weebs berating others learning Japanese?
I've watched anime for 15 years.
I've been studying vocab using Anki for over an hour per day for months.
I've been making online Japanese friends who want language exchange and talking with them in Japanese for hours for a month.
I've been seeing drastic improvements in my Japanese conversational skills and am still gradually improving.
Excited, I've shared this experience with my irl friends while hanging out with them on a Friday night.
All my friends did is look down on my progress, saying "You probably aren't really speaking Japanese, you are just mimicking lines from anime" or "Your progress sounds like bullshit and you are probably just putting on airs".
I really don't understand how these guys are triggered why they are berating the time and effort I've been putting in.

I find learning pitch accent a waste of time. so instead, im just going to speak in a monotone/neutral/flat pitch. i heard that tip from someone, if you don’t know the pitch, just speak flat. over time i will remember and say words with correct pitch i suppose. especially when i start learning full sentences, the pitch of individual words can change depending on the next particle.

Actually, I should've probably been more clear. The semantic radical 頁, comprised of 首 (animal with horns, but later head) + 卩 (kneeling person, represented by the bottom two strokes), is supposed to be depicting a person kneeling with head held forward, thus emphasizing the head, but the left phonetic radical 豆 doesn't have a clear origin as to why it was chosen. Some believe it was picked because of its homophony with the Proto-Sino-Tibetan word for head, others believe it's depicting a skull as a drinking vessel. Who knows?
