Combine that with the virginity permeating throughout the room and it really almost felt like a /jp/ meet-up.

An Age partnership is something that would be great, however the rage would have been the same had it been any other big name company with what happened.

They introduced a big shot as a special guest for the panel, and his only lines were introducing himself, and to say that they were not having their stuff translated. Then they have one of the main VAs of a big title from that company, come out wearing a fucking uniform from that title, and sing the fucking opening of that title, despite the fact that they are not translating it.

I am not really being a hypocrite here.
No PHYSICAL copies!? What!?
That's really their biggest bane right their.
I would rather buy the japanese versions of the game (if they are still available, that's not always the case depending on how old the title is) even if it is in moon, rather that than throwing away my money on "nothing" with no collectors valaue that I can't place on my shelfs or even look at.

Then again, the only titles they have that I might be interested in is Higurashi and perhaps Kirakira, but they don't have physical copies, so I am not buying them.
Besides, just look at how butchered Higurashi was, I know lots of it might not be entirly mangagamer's fault, but really they screwed up music and everything and it even led to the "Higurashi fix" project.
And while most of their later products have been decent or at least semi-decent you can't ignore the fact that they actually have had translation issues.

If they at some point do make physical copies available, then I am actually quite sure that I will buy KiraKira and perhaps DaCapo.
I propably won't buy Higurashi if they don't make some kind of deal with someone and put in work to fix it themselves, on the other hand it might be enough if just the Higurashi Fix project is more successful, but Mangagamer really should fix it themselves.

Sorry, but there are scans of box art so fucking print it out and put it on a shelf if you're so fucking concerned. I bought from MangaGamer, and I payed for translation and not for some overpriced piece of glossy cardboard. This is another problem with mangagamer.
You claim that physical products are overpriced. (Though I don't get people like you, no offense intended, but do you have no sense of the collector's valute of having the real product of what you like in physical form?)
Anyways, the problem with mangagamer here is that even though their only sell non-physical products, their prices are about the same.
If you scrap the costs for physical products and manufacturing, then at least lower the prices some.

Paying for vn's....

>> No.5559197

>>5558099
I'm just saying that a CD/DVD, a manual and a box is not enough for me to warrant preferring a physical copy over a digital download. It's pretty and all, but it just ends up gathering dust. If it comes with extras, like OST, artbook or a fig, then it's a different story.

If I want to support the developer/translator, I'd buy the game/VN in whatever form it comes - I preordered Demonbane to support JAST USA's official localizations of Nitro+ games, not for the actual box. Heck, torrent will probably appear sooner that the game ships over here.

Protip: MangaGamer's translations after Edelweiss and Hinatabokko are actually better than JAST's ones. Yes, even Kira Kira's, that just needed better editing/QC, it's amazing that MG actually managed to translate Setoguchi.
Yume Miru Kusuri on the other hand had lots of translation errors, not to mention JAST's other translations.

Point is that you can't fucking tell shit as long as the company has decent QC.
