I'm not mad at the people who read them, I'm mad at the uncreative fucks who make this and copy someone elses characters to tag with your piece of shit story.
The only reason anyone reads them is because it has touhou in it. The only reason they sell is because it has touhou in it. The creations would never sell if they were originals, and I'm sure the authors know that. So then they decide to ride the coattails of ZUN's work.

I went back to read it again, you know. But I just skimmed over it, because I wasn't really enjoying it. I dunno, I think it was one of the first Touhou doujins that I read, when I was going through gensokyo.org's archives.

Well, whatever. I had some fun in this thread anyways.

Jasper Star was one of the first doujins I read since Touhou picked my interest but there were only parts 1 and 2 translated.

Then I forgot about it until a few days ago when I found part 3 translated.

Now that I think about it I saw Miko Miko Suika 6 and 7 somewhere I wonder if anyone will translate them.

They are only tied to Touhou marginally by name, and are technically the authors original work, which they could have created with their own original characters and setting.

Nobody would give a crap if they were some random OCs. I think it's interesting to see characters I know in different situations. It's okay as long as you remember it's purely fanon and don't let it cloud your judgement of the canon events and characters.

It's ok to make derivative works as long as there's still bits of the characters' known info and attitude. Unless it's one of those weird parodies that either create crossovers or turn Touhou into an acid trip, but either way it's pretty much the same since it's combining the original traits of the characters with whatever they mix it with, be it a series or a goof off.
