Saten-san’s kanji of the day is: 涙

On-yomi: ろい
Kun-yomi: なみだ
Commonness: 4/10

This always has a meaning related to “tears.” The radical on the left, which looks kind of like シ, is a deformed version of 水, which means “water.” Any kanji you see that in should have something to do with water. On the right, you have 戻, which by itself is a kanji that means “return.” When you are crying, water returns to the ground. Or, if you are a certain mean bully on /jp/ who does not enjoy Saten threads, they just fall on your keyboard.

涙を流す – namida o nagasu – to shed tears
感涙 – kanrui – tears of gratitude
