Who Final Fantasy Tactics here?

I've played Final Fantasy Tactics Advance.

That's one of my favorite games ever.

>> No.8975738

I did late last year.

Or early this year, I can't remember

>> No.8975736

I really liked Final Fantasy Tactics and similar games because I could make a generic character and name it after myself. That way I could pretend I'm not a loser and feel like I'm actually a part of the game!

Lame as hell. Play the real game you fucking nerd.

The Advance games weren't too bad though.

>> No.8975783

For some reasons I didn't really like this game as much as most people. It was fine, but the story with all of its intrigues didn't really work for me, couldn't care that much.

The combat system is also rather unbalanced.

The thing I appreciated the most is the job system, that was awesome, probably the best of all the final fantasy games.

>> No.8975810

Loved it. Calcs are fucking overpowered. Once I all the enemies along with half of my own team (With holy I think), win in 1 round.

Yeah Advance was cool. Still created by the same guy who did FFT and Tactics Ogre too.

He writes some pretty cool characters IMO. Usually the ones that like have multiple ambitions and sorta tread the fine line between good and evil I guess. Oh and also older sister type characters who sometimes wear armor.

They were great games but really when you stop and think about FFT they seem kind of a letdown.

Awesome game, although multiple ways to basically insta-win after the half-way point. Using some of the named people (I'm looking at you Orlandu), or having calculators with speed increasing items equiped who could kill many enemies per turn with Holy.

Nah I sucked ass back then. I didn't know a thing about mixing/mastering. I mean I still suck ass at it, but just not as bad as before I guess. Here's a FFT song that I redid the mixing/mastering on recently:

To be honest for I just wanna do a metal version of that one boss theme where you uh, fight the zodiac guys. Seems perfect for that IMO.

The route where you save her is one of the best routes too. I think it's a pretty fun game to replay like after a year though. All the routes are pretty different, so it doesn't get repetitive.

Pretty much a direct port of the PSP port. It has the same framerate problems and slowdown from time to time but it is essentially FFT on your iPhone and iPad so I will give it that.

Necromancer moe.

>> No.8984471

The slowdown isn't game-breaking though and it's perfectly fine. Even for nostalgia it's really hard for me to go back to the PS1's original god awful localization.

>> No.8984519

Hey guys. /v/ here.

There's a patch that fixes the PSP version's slowdown. You need a cracked PSP to use it, but it's so damn worth it. Makes the game downright playable again.

You can search for a tutorial (with download links) on YouTube.

>> No.8984773

>>8981826
>It has the same framerate problems and slowdown from time to time
Nah, it's got the same -intentional- framerate problems (specifically, 50% framerate on spell animations) but in addition to that, it's got hardware slowdown.

So basically (and I am trying as hard as possible to not mention Xibit) its slowdown issues are compounded doubly, and doesn't make use of the touchscreen in any remotely interesting way. If you have ANY other way of playing FFT (and you do), don't play the iOS version.

>>8978531
I restarted my entire game even though I was 2/3 of the way through the Law route.
And I don't even remotely regret it.

>>8984519
Ooooh, they actually managed to do that? Impressive. Thanks for letting me know.

Pretty interesting. Although I am not too bothered by the slowdown but it's nice to know the modding community has extended to the PSP version.

I led Alphonse down the Chaotic path in Lodis because that's how he should be in Let Us Cling Together.

I recruited Deneb the Witch <3 in every Ogre Battle Tactics Ogre game.

I like FF12 because it remixed FFT's music.

I've been meaning to play tactics ogre but my autism is getting in the way. I want to finish ogre battle 64 first, which I've been trying to beat for the last decade or so. I got pretty far into it on my last attempt, but then I hit a wall. basically the problem is that I want to use all of the unique characters, but I have one that I can't fit into any of the units I have set up. I had her in the unit I was planning to have a princess lead once I got all the shit to promote one, but then I realized that I would have too many back row units and the only way to fit her in would be to remove the cleric. help me /jp/ I don't know what to do.

TO is even more autismic. Like each route is 40-50 hours long. Then there's all the bonus content which adds dozens more hours. You keep your characters/levels as you replay the game too.

Most people just end the game after they beat it once, but if someone has OCD... then god help us all.
