What are you playing? What are you looking forward to? What have you finished? You know the drill.

Just in time.

I haven't been reading these threads for about a month, what VNs would you recommend to read if I want to catch up?

In terms of April releases, a lot of people read monobeno and "harumade, kururu" is starting to get attention, if that's what you're asking.

創刻のアテリアル was last month's hot title, it's like magic the gathering made by eshully.
Also many people enjoyed はるまで、くるる。 though I didn't try it personally.
The rest is your generic high school romance drama mixed with porn with plot games.

Yeah, thanks guys. I find myself clearing my backlog more often than reading new titles, but having a rough idea of what's being discussed here is always good.

Nothing, at lerast not visual shit games.

Why don't you neckbeards get laid instead of playing porn games with shitty story?

This is unexpectedly turning out to be pretty hilarious, it doesn't seem like it's going to be able to keep this up, though.
The art style doesn't really tick with me either, but it's still pretty nice.

My summary of April (mostly because I'm bored waiting for すぴぱら to finish downloading).

Soukoku no Arterial: Good gameplay though easy to break but HORRIBLE writing, voice acting and story in general.

Venus Blood -Frontier-: Most refined VB gameplay-wise but story and character-wise it's a step down from the previous entries. Loved the soundtrack though

AngelGuard: Wasn't that bad for a first effort but mostly very generic in every ways

Monobeno: Look REALLY good and it manages to create a pretty interesting mood but the writing and story are subpar. Also Natsuha made me feel like a criminal.

Harumade, Kururu: Hand down the surprise of the month. Start as a nukige but quickly develop a pretty interesting story and setting. The character interactions in general is very nice and it can be both funny and touching.
It's upper middle level quality wise but because this year fucking suck Harukuru is pretty much one of the best title of the year so far.

Mahoutsukai no Yoru: Look extremely good.
For the rest it depends on how much you like Nasu I guess. By his own admission the story didn't even start in this so you'll have to wait for the sequels to get it (Nasu also stated he didn't even start writing the second episode so good luck waiting for it)

>> No.9039273

Finished Sumaga. The only thing that salvaged the second half of the game was Oki's route and a somewhat decent ending but holy shit, it tries really hard to make you stop reading it and never touch it again.

>> No.9039579

>>9039469
Nope, the true eroge experts stayed in /jp/. /vg/ is for english-only people. You might see some discussion about untranslated titles there, though it's mostly initiated by new people (<10 eroge finished in japanese) who want to show off before the non-japanese speakers.

>> No.9039603

>>9039579
I always feel uncomfortable whenever they discuss untranslated games because it's like you can feel the dick-waving. Here at least no one thinks being able to read a game is an amazing feat.

I feel like a fucking idiot. I haven't even finished one eroge in Japanese yet. I always end up dropping everything I read, even if it isn't difficult.

Speaking of OP's image, I'm trying to get better at moon just so I can read Rail-Soft titles. I downloaded Albatross Koukairoku's trial when it came out about two years ago and it was just too much for me. Maybe I'll be able to read it in another three years. Fuck.

Tried playing that Oreimo Portable game for the PSP.

Is Kanako in the first or the second one? That's the only reason I'm playing.

Also, those endings where it shows you with their kids.
I'm assuming it's the second, and I've wasted my time.

Just finished 吸血殲鬼ヴェドゴニア.

This title took longer than expected to finish because of its numerous flaws, almost made me want to quit at several points, made me play other games at other times instead. Battles were dumb/annoying, battle/action sequences description were boring, vampires were boring, plot was extremely linear and predictable. Patching is a must, and somehow even though I followed a walkthrough I got 97% on CG.

Anyways, I guess I like bittersweet endings a bit.. although there wasn't sufficient buildup to deliver sufficient emotional impact. Thus what I get were small/moderate gifts after grinding through a heap of shit. Out of all routes I thought Leanhaum was the worst. Maybe its because I gutted her with my own hands 3 whole times in other routes before doing hers last, and the fact that much of her route had significant overlap with Misako's. Skip function was also weird, it was rather slow and pauses a lot. Oh, and Fritz was an annoying mutt.

Enjoyable moments in the game: Phantom phone ring tone, predicting Mora having a regenerative hymen and getting it right, *high-fived* myself., and just Mora in general: she's fucking adorable.
