I don't think you've ever lived in the forest at all, Anon. In order to survive, a great portion of your time will be spent gathering food and provisions for shelter. Wood for fire to survive the winter, clean supplies for purifying your water, disposing of your own waste in a sanitary way, all of these and more are just the beginning of an "off the grid" life

Really Anon, I think you've romanticized the idea of a forest life and don't appreciate the reality of it

My dream is to be the lord of a castle.

Ideally I could have the castle be just three or four stories tall with lots of rooms, beautiful balconies, and a tranquil courtyard. In that mansion I'd have a tower as my personal quarters featuring a basement, study, library, bedroom, and chapel. It would be nice if I could have lots of companions living with me (distant as I may be) because it would be fun to eat with everyone at a big table and celebrate holidays together with no expenses spared. The scenery around the castle would be clear of any other human settlements and feature rolling green hills, dark forests, and a small trail lit by eerie streetlights leading to a pond filled with little fishies.

A house in the middle of nowhere that has internet and a room the size of an average ballroom but much taller.

Uhm, my dream life? Becoming the ruler of the night, and leading legions of living nightmares and undeads to engage restless war and reduce humanity to minimal fraction of what is now.
giving metropolitan areas back to savage flora and fauna would be a nice addiction.
...alternatively, I'd like to make a living with art, and help saving animal species threathened of extinction by human activities...a shame this is too unrealistic.

Similar to yours OP. I'd like to be a Park Ranger in a national park a long way away from cities. I don't mind if there is no internet, though it would be a bonus. I'd set up a recording studio there and record all the music I like as well while tending to the park.

How do you become a park ranger or something similar?
