If you're a beginner, please read the guide first.

Updated guide: https://tatsumoto.neocities.org/
Japanese resources: https://tatsumoto.neocities.org/blog/resources.html
Old guide for those afraid of change: https://itazuraneko.neocities.org/
Japanese Mega Learning Pack: https://nyaa.si/view/1372367

Daily reminder: targeted sentence cards are the most effective way to combine Anki with immersion.

Previous thread: >>37236344

>> No.37252457

Things to avoid:
・Anime cards (the guide by QM). It recommends words cards, which are proven to be ineffective for learning Japanese.
・Core 2.3k. It is based on a very old corpus and sorted in a way that makes learning harder. Do Ankidrone Starter Pack instead.
・Anacreon. Anacreon is an infamous spammer. He hijacks our OP to shill his shit.

>Since different forms of the COMT gene can have different effects on brain structure, the researchers suspected that the students' COMT genotype would be related to how much white matter changed from the language class.

>Sure enough, using DNA samples taken from the students at the beginning of the language program, the researchers found that two specific forms of the COMT gene (Methionine/Valine or Valine/Valine) were linked to greater increases in brain connectivity in students who took the language class. Students with a third COMT genotype (Methionine/Methionine) did not show any white matter change in response to the language experience.

>The combination of the COMT genotype and the white matter measure was so powerful on language learning that it accounted for 46 percent of total variance in the students' final scores.

I need help bros. Basically I got a new laptop and because old one died. Lost all my progress and stopped doing shit for like a month. Decided to get back into it recently.

I have 2.3K and MIA Kanji Recognition deck so I'll start to go through them again. How can I start to make a lot of gains fast?

I'm a newfag to the thread so it's been really confusing trying to find what's recommended in the sea of misinformation and spamming between various people. Any advice would be appreciated.

ありがとうございます

If you know less than 1000 words, it makes sense to do the Kanji Transition deck. If not, start mining sentences from your immersion.

First two are easy
Nichiyoubi = Sunday
Getsuyoibi = Monday

Then, start with fire on Tuesday
Kayoubi = Tuesday

The next day “beats” the day before in the Chinese five elements
Suiyoubi = water beats fire = Wednesday
Mokuyoubi = wood beats water = Thursday

Also Fridays are golden! tgif wagie!
Kinyoubi = Friday

Allow me to attempt some constructive criticism of your attempt at a guide. I'll be brief because, after a couple weeks of lurking to witness your posts, I doubt it'll help.

Your guide reads like it was written primarily for /g/. You overstress the importance of free software in a context where all the reader wants is the ability to succeed with the closest tools at hand. For the average reader, Discord and Windows are close at hand. Having tools for the other 5-10% is nice, but focusing on them alienates the wider audience.

You provide nothing unique to your guide. In fact, it feels as though you've paraphrased Itazuraneko in order to smash in your immersion worship. Itazuraneko is better-written in general, and AJATT handles the other portion of your content in better detail, so perhaps you should replace your entire site with links to those sites and call it a day? That or work on some uniquely beneficial content before you attempt to get people to use your site.

Now, you should know by this point that both you and your detractors are severely undermining the usefulness of these threads. As your "new" guide has been discarded by the community (see: it's not used in the OPs you don't write) perhaps you should consider how much benefit there would be for everyone else involved should you simply stop posting it. If your goal is indeed to help the people here learn Japanese, maybe you should simply allow these threads to focus on learning and not on your guide, hm?
