So, I guess /a/ is not the place to ask about this. I wanna start getting myself into Visual Novels. The only VN I've read so far is Fate Stay Night, which I loved. Can you guys recommend me some names? I like suspense, if it's worth anything.

At the moment I'm downloading Saya No Uta that I read was good according to what I'm into in some /v/ kind of wikia.

Yeah, Saya no Uta is good.

Umineko and Higurashi are also good, especially Umineko.

I've heard Higanbana is good, but haven't tried it myself.

KARA no Shoujo, Swansong and Kurovadis

You'll probably like Saya no Uta.

Also try Tsukihime.

If you want something more cute and light-hearted, give Wanko to Kurasou a go.

I've seen Higurashi and Umineko around. Gonna check out what's Higurashi about. Haven't really heard about the others, but I'll check them out, thanks for the recommendations!

You might like S;G. Give it a try.

And if you like suspense, you will like Saya.

Make sure you don't watch the anime for Higurashi or Umineko.

If you loved FSN you're going to enjoy Tsukihime as well.
Have a chart for reference.

Thanks a lot, that chart is really helpful!

There's also the /vn/ OP over on /vg/

Just a heads up that most of those aren't translated, though it's out of date and a few of them have since been translated but aren't marked as such. Also asceai has weird taste.

>>10620889
I wouldn't wish /vn/ on my worst enemies.

Note that I specifically mentioned the OP and regardless he should be able to make up his own mind whether or not he likes it there.

Oh, fuck me. Most of them aren't translated? Well fuck.

Of course not. Where do you think you are? All /jp/sies are fluent in the glorious mother tongue. It's okay, though, we know you're just a visitor.

You'll find that the number of translated eroge is small, and the number of translated eroge you actually have an interest in is even smaller. That's why most of us know Japanese or are at least studying it.

Looking over that chart again there's actually a lot on there that has been translated since it was made (too many for me to feel like making a list) but still most are untranslated.

If you like suspense another recommendation that hasn't been mentioned so far is G-Senjou no Maou. It's not the best but it's enjoyable and for whatever reason it tends to be popular with people who haven't played many VNs so I guess you could say it's good for beginners.

Are you guys roleplaying?

Suspense? Ever17 is one of the most acknowledged suspense games, if you are okay with all-age. Kara no Shoujo was already mentioned. I wouldn't call Saya no Uta suspense (or I'm missing something?), still a very good read. I would recommend Cross Channel, but the translation is sadly pretty bad. Sharin no Kuni and G-Senjou no Maou should also be mentioned. I don't really like Looseboy games, but they appear to be pretty popular, and it's suspense.

YU-NO is a must read. If you like suspense, its the one for you.
Kara no Shoujo is a good suspense, detective vn.
Majikoi has great action and comedy.
If you're into gameplay, Sengoku Rance, Kamidori and Big Bang Age

Thanks for the head ups and recommendations. I was also checking that /vn/ post in /vg/, it got some useful stuff.

Kara no Shoujo.
