How's your language journey going? I started ajatt and most of my day is based around anki reps. I'm using Skype to fumble through basic Japanese conversation twice a week.

I feel like I've only just started learning, getting the fundamentals down took a year. I'm a slow learner and I made bad use of my time.

I'll be in Tokyo from April. Immersion.

For anybody who has made it, do you remember the otaku experience before knowing Japanese? What's it like ascending from basic weeb 'ケンさまです' to mastery of nihongo?

Have a rare Pepe.

Native Japanese here.
Cram it, it's the way I did it in grade school, and the way that I tutor it.
Just keep on writing the characters on paper while thinking of both on-yomi and kun-yomi and meaning.
For the grammar, just read a lot I guess, maybe kid's books or light novels or something. It's not really the hardest thing to master. But while reading, read aloud and record yourself to learn to pronounce it so you don't sound dumb.

Good luck anon.
