As a hermit, she gets higher standards applied to her than youkai or ordinary humans, because hermits are supposed to be highly ethical in all things and follow the law of Heaven. Kind of like Kasen acts, or at least tries to.

It's the same with Tenshi who gets painted as someone awful, even though all she did was being rude to some people (compare this to 2hu gallery of murderers and man-eating monsters). Celestials are expected to be ethically perfect, and she is very human-like instead.
