-The Spring 2019 Event: Commence Allied Relief! "The 2nd Hawaii Operation" is underway and will last ~4 weeks. It is a medium-scale event with 3 Main Operation maps and 2 Extra Operation maps.
-Shimushu-class DEs Hachijou (E-2 reward) and Ishigaki(E-2 drop) are available from the main operation. Pasta light cruiser Giuseppe Garibaldi is the E-3 reward. The Eldest of Eldest Sisters, The Fighting Fletcher, is available as a drop in E-4. The Big Seven's Colorado has been implemented as the reward for clearing the abyss "Beyond the Surging Sea".
-Friend Fleets have been implemented in E-2. Friend Fleets will be added for the other maps sequentially next week. There is now an option to opt out of Friend Fleets altogether as well as a further option of requesting a stronger Friend Fleet. If opting in on a stronger Friend Fleet to show up, it will consume 6 flamethrowers if the stronger Friend Fleet shows up. If a normal one shows up, then no flamethrowers will be consumed. If the stronger Friend Fleet fails to show up, a normal Friend Fleet will still show up so long as you're opted in for Friend Fleet support.
-7 new Reppuu planes have been implemented, two of which are land-base planes and two that are for the 1st CarDiv. Of the 7, Reppuu Kai is the E-1 reward. Reppuu Kai (352 AG/Skilled) is the E-2 hard reward. Reppuu Kai-II and Reppuu Kai (Proto carrier model) are the E-3 hard reward. The Reppuu Kai-IIE is available as a reward from E-4 hard and E-5 easy. The Reppuu Kai-IIE (CarDiv1/Skilled) is the E-5 hard reward. The 1st CarDiv also gains a small bonus from Ryuusei and Ryuusei Kai.
-Akagi Kai-II and Kai-IIE have been implemented. It requires level 90 for Kai-II along with 1AR, 2BP, 1 catapult, and 2 airplane parts. Kai-IIE requires level 92.
-The April ranking rewards have been distributed. The new equipment are the Ryuusei Kai (CarDiv1) and Ryuusei Kai (CarDiv1/Skilled).
-Gotland will receive a second remodel at some point to re-turn her to a seaplane cruiser. Yahagi will receive a Kai-II at some point in the future. The rest of the Kongou-class will receive further remodels eventually. Shigure will also receive a further remodel in the future.
-The 2019 calendar hints at several new destroyers.
-More Fletchers will be implemented in the future, some illustrated by ZECO. Matsu-class from the Type D Destroyers are being prepared for the 7th year of KanColle.
-There are plans for expanding ASW with equipment from the land of black tea like ASDIC and hedgehogs.
-Full implementation of 2nd Sequence may take a year. Each Block will have new features added.

Not at all, Otome mode is already at least half as easy as hard and kuso as well is at least half as easy as Otome mode. Chou Kuso is perfect for people who had just started, at least to farm rare ships, and Kuso is perfect for someone who has diligently been building up their fleet over the past couple of months. Not to mention that normal friend fleets should be more than enough to carry them in the lower difficulty so no need to waste their small amount of flamethrowers.

Standard Type 1 only available from quarterly quest, which means only 4 per year. Only Type 96 is craftable.
54th squadron isn't available from any quest.
Raiden is only available from a limited time quest in 2018. The only interceptor readily available is Shiden Model 11, which is again from quarterly quest.

This is my problem with how Tanaka handle LBAS. It's not easily available.

Actually make it so that upgrading to the next level costs 10-20 screws from +max. The quarterly can then be used so that its upgrade from +0 to the next level is basically free.
Need more Toukais though, but like I said, let the next event come before we see how much of a necessity it is.

I dunno dude, last autumn event broke me at Riche hime. Where throwing literally everything sparkled with disregard to LBAS defence i was still at the mercy of 3 ships (2 of whom were KitaOoi) throwing overcrits at the boss (despite 2 more enemies alive) to win.
The remainder of the event was more managable, but it didn't feel nor think like as if i won. It was more like the game spat in my face, especially with the gun not being that good either.

I would like a way I can use more of my ships though, like special sorties where I can dispatch smaller fleets around to interdict the enemy before they can hit my main fleet.
Like DD fleets to hunt down their subs, or CVL fleets to fend off their BBs. Would need to tweak the shiplock system though otherwise you'll need way too many ships per map.

There are 3 nodes on the way to the boss. The pre-boss is a Ru wall, and there's the miniboss node with the CV Water Demon. Node G is okay, I guess, although sometimes Ne gets funny ideas. Also, you're in CTF, which means Escort fires first. I think that qualifies for route support, yes.

As for reaching the boss versus focusing the boss with LBAS, your CTF is hardly going to be optimised for damaging the boss (not to mention suffering from ammo+fuel penalties), even with escorts set up for anti-installation damage. Even with both LBAS focused on the boss, your damage output is going to be limited. I committed one fighter base to J just to help with pass rate, so that I could chip more frequently. It's a shitty feeling when you get there and you only shave off 5HP (or perhaps even none), but better than nothing (which is what you'd get if you had to turn around and go home). Not sure how viable FCF strats are - my main problem was that my escort DDs were also radar carriers, so sending people back meant losing radars, which would have affected the radar check at preboss.

More significantly, though, the additional damage bonus modifier doesn't kick in until after the STF shortcut has been unlocked at 1/3 of the HP bar (assuming all the other requirements have been fulfilled).

Not sure about sub tank as I cleared before that was a thing, i.e. hurled my CTF against a brick wall until I got through. You can always wait for friend fleets though, which should be here by the end of this week(?). It should definitely make chipping go faster, and make clearing easier. My clear was pretty lucky as I had 2 ships focus fire on the boss at night, when 5/6 of her main fleet was still alive at the end of the day battle.
