Not much has changed tbh, and if we both did exactly what we just did except in SWR 1.06, you probably woulda won.
Marisa was nerfed for a reason. You're still playing the same way you played in 1.06, but now it's not working too well anymore. Find something else that works.
TBH, it's just that there is one thing that gets me really angry while playing, and that is retarded play that works. I.E. Following up a 66A with 214B. Don't. Seriously. It's 100% punishable on block, nothing you can do about it, not even another 214b. All I have to do is to 66B (Or even 6A would work I think) and down you go.
Or wakeup 5A/66A (really Krad? really? REALLY?!)
In my head, doing shit that, if blocked, leaves you completely helpless and punishable for thousands of damage is a bad idea and a big gimmick. And that is what most of your play was made of. I have trouble adapting to that, took me a while before I started expecting it, and even then I still ate a few.

Oh, and 3A 6C is no longer airtight. Everyone can graze attack you out of it.
Sigh.
To be honest, I have myself to blame more than you. When I get angry, I stop playing well. I even sandbagged some rounds. I need to take it easy (in before Yukkuris)

>> No.3254504

>>3254424
A lot of people do that though, wakeup poking (worst offenders: Utsuho players). Even more maddening are people trying to poke in the middle of blockstrings, but it works against low level players who can't execute said blockstrings properly (e.g. myself).

By far the most widespread habit I've seen is airteching toward the attacker, which is just begging for a 2k+ punish.

Airteching is unpunishable in SWR. Most people don't block or try to mash j.5a after it though, and then they eat 2k.+

The point about wakeup poking is that it doesn't work.
In theory.
You need to get up before you can start an attack, while the guy who knocked you down is already up, and therefor can start an attack before you.
Thus, unless the dude fucks it up, you will never, ever manage to land a poke on wakeup, aside from a DP.

Still, GGs for the most part, I just wish you would've showed up earlier which might've spared you that poor performance a little. At least, thanks for not sandbagging in the beginning -- STUBBY LIMBS made it a little frustrating but at least I could come to the realization that Yukari is broken enough to make Youmu look like a playable character. Goddamn.

But come back later and I'll show you something a lot less half-assed, brah.
And no sandbagging next time, you know that's no fun.

>> No.3255486

Playing full random is kind of the definition of sandbagging for me. You wanted full random.
But putting Yukari on Youmu's tier? ... Really? If you mean I play on the same level as the :9999 Youmu then that's understandable. We're rl friends, I got him started.

>> No.3255523

>>3255486
Well, it all depended on who showed up. I was planning to random if it was someone like SDD who's all about goofy matches, but you didn't seem like the sort of person who'd play random much so I didn't either for a while.

And my point was more along the lines that they're both ridiculously easier to use than the rest of the cast, higher damage output, etc etc.
But not to be complaining or anything, you're actually one of the few I've been looking forward to playing for a while; it's just, having those matches half-asleep really wasn't what I had in mind. Reisen was able to get something started there, and sometime in the future I want to try that again because I KNOW I can do better than that. If you don't mind, that is.
Still, the fact that this happens so much is why I never bothered going to IRC ;_;

Now you're just confusing complaining for a valid reason with "BAAAWWW I LOST." I wasn't even saying that because of how well you used her, but form a general perspective of how easily she can control matches with little effort.
She has NO trouble whatsoever controlling the screen and her SCs are the cheapest of anyone's; and while she may not have the stupid amount of damage Youmu does, she has the ability to control every block and every whiff from anywhere on the screen if used right.
Hell, if it makes you feel better I'll admit that Suika - one of my mains - has easily earned a place up there in the broken pile.
This game has no balance, and just because you use somebody who has ridiculous advantages over the rest gives you no right to make accusations just because somebody else doesn't like it.

One question though, why do you always walk backwards when Yukari throws a train at you? As far as I'm aware the best thing to do when a Yukari player uses the train is to use a spellcard that'll grant you invincibility (suika's missing power for example), or fly upwards in an attempt to dodge (doesn't always work).

Nobody calls anyone a scrub here. Fag, weeaboo nigger, cheap-ass little shit, and cocknigger, but not scrub. That's /v/ turf, and even THEY tend to be less tourneyfaggy than that.

A new person should at least be able to clear story mode before taking his shit online. It isn't necessary in the slightest, but story mode is a great way to learn what the game requires of you in terms of grazing.

For a bare minimum, you can do nice online with just a few tips.
1. Wakeup games. If you're down, you're the bitch. Hold D plus a direction to roll to your feet somewhere else. You can't wakeup attack like Street Fighter or whatever.
2. Grazan gaems. If it isn't a bullet, you can't dash/fly graze it. Also, dash+B or C is worth trying. Some characters like Yuyuko or Cirno have killer Dash+Cs.
3. All of your attacks will be QCF, F+D+DF, DownDown, or the opposite directions of those.

tips 2+3 are of no use in my opinion.
Graze attacks are overrated and can get punished on block most of the time, so don't tell a new player to rely on it.

What do you mean all your attacks? Those are merely special moves.

Also, I think that playing arcade mode would help you getting better at netplay rather than story mode. Knowing when to block in this game is really important.

The biggest barrier to new people in fightans is usually knowing where all their moves sit. Once you know where they sit, you can figure them out easily.

Yeah, I felt kinda bad pitting my Yuyuko against your Remi. Remi is tough to use, and Yuyu is one of my best chars.

Still, stick with what works, and you've got some nice patterns down with scythe toohoo.

Utusho is tough as nails to play because she has tons of badass moves but they are all pretty slow and if you whiff, YOUR FUCKED

GGs GP. Always interesting to face someone for the first time and learn what they use (often, skills I have never seen before).

A pity the last game was marred by crazy lag.
