People got tired of Death Note. Or rather I think, it was more that /jp/ was founded only a few months before Geass Summer, which radically changed the face of /a/. However even into early 2009 there were still those Death Note threads on /a/ on a somewhat constant basis.. ones like "post ending in x gets killed by the death note", often with a Near always off the death number by 1 (KoG?)
