Does the shape of this lens flare annoy anyone else for the type of lens flare that it is? If it were a photograph, for that particular type of lens flare, it would have the same dimensions as the aperture diaphragm. It'd be anywhere from 5-15 sided. It wouldn't be perfectly circular unless the person was shooting wide open. No one shoots wide open outside.

The absolute minimum would be 3 sided. I actually don't know if there is a maximum amount of blades that can be put in a lens. They could also be rounded which would give a more circular appearance, but it wouldn't be perfectly circular unless wide open.
