The original was fairly generic by today's standards, dunno about in 1999. Also had a pretty hellish event and flag system, like if you got the event in one route that was required for it's main source of drama to make sense, you were locked out of the good/true end if I remember right. On top of that, a playthrough was 2-3 hours max. The fact that how you determined which route/season you were in was determined by a choice before you even met any of the 4 Isumi sisters and the only info you had on each one was something like this. So I'm sort of hoping the game has some sort of common route taking place at an unspecified time or whatever so you get to know characters and so forth before making the season decision, assuming that's still present.

Now, I don't know how the Getch preorder list works, but don't forget that the game was delayed multiple times, and was originally supposed to come out two years ago if I remember correctly. Add to the fact that the 2 probably most anticipated/wanted (Touko and Munakata) routes have to be downloaded after you bought the game due to VA scheduling issues as well as Alternative Chronicles 告白, it's possible people might have canceled their preorders, even though it's supposed to be available on the release date.

Nah, it's no magic trick or anything complicated man; just download ChiiTrans and bam, you're done. Of course, you might need to do some tweaking and adjusting so that you optimize it according to the game you're playing, but usually it's piece of cake. I recently played and posted about Gyakushuu 4, but one thing I forgot to mention was my disappointment with the routes. I mean, in X's route, you expect something good to happen with X, right? Nope, she just gets some more screentime while Hivemind-kun keeps obsessing over the blandest character in the setting, pic related. The greatest aversion from that is a simple, last-moment "I love you", and that's to the character who tortured him the most. Why.

Is Kubou Akiko from Artemis Blue, Kubou Masaru's child/grandchild (presumably with Akira)? Their surname is the same (久保), and she seems to share some of Akira's traits (slackyness) at least. Seems too much of a coincidence that the same writer would use the same surname in two of his works, but is there some hidden meaning I'm missing here or something? (If it was ever expanded in AB then I likely glossed over it.)

After playing a bit of Legend Seven trial, I don't like it.
I doubt I'll read the main game, the very first scene is pretty interesting but everything after that is just bad, the setting seems like it was taken from a shitty LN and the production values during the fights are really horrendous.

I'm getting the trial of 無限煉姦 now, same writer as MinDead/Extravaganza and the story seems pretty interesting.
Should be a good mix of ero and plot with a badass growing heroine

Well, I disagree.
I thought the very first scene was bloody awful with its random denpa shit, and the protag got on my nerve very soon, but not surprisingly the first fight is totally Schatten kinda stuff so that was awesome. Did you expect it to be somehow different than that or something?
I think I'll just read her route and whatever route the nekketsu kansaiben bro chara will be prevalent in, and don't bother with everyone else. I still regret I didn't do it like this with Schatten.

Schatten "routes" are so short they're a joke anyways, even fullcomping the game doesn't waste that much time compared to just going straight for the Kizaia ending.

I like Schatten.
But the trial of L7 was pretty horrible, the protag sucks, the heroines aren't even close to Kizaiah level of awesome and the battles all sucked with some horrible production values.

Oh and it most likely won't have routes to choose, the trial force you on the childhood friend route (horrible character) and there is a lot of hints it's going to be a loop game.

Not really, Shirayuki is pretty much Kizaiah 2, and she's bokukko to boot which is even better in my book.
As I said I don't like the protag either but oh well, I'll read it for Shirayuki and won't give a single fuck about the others.

The battles in L7 are a shadow of these so you only get what look like stick figures fighting.

Well I've read it and I have to apologize but with all due respect, we are likely going to keep disagreeing on this game. I don't think it was worse than Schatten (granted I've read it one and a half year ago already). I've thought that the fights involving nekketsu characters were awesome, the fights involving shitty characters are shitty (Himika argh), just like my experiences with Schatten. What's the most important to me, and the whole reason I am/was expecting this game, that those battles did get me all 燃える, which is something kinda rare for me.
That said, I didn't like the protag and half the heroines though, but I anticipated that.

I'm totally fired up for hearing more Shirayuki and Eiji speeches in the full game.

Also I don't think it'd be continuous time loop. Sure I can easily imagine a loop on the 22th, but I'd rather believe that he rolls back X time backward, and then you'd get choices on how to change shit happening which would decide your route.
