Why are all the VN discussions relegated in a general thread that move at snail pace?
Don't you guys like VNs?

>> No.8168664

yes we do, but your favorite VN is shit

>> No.8168666

VNs are to /jp/ as video games are to /v/ and anime is to /a/.
We fucking hate them.

such a shitty and inaccurate chart..

>> No.8168677

It's almost like people are afraid of discussing VNs here.
Are they afraid of having their taste called shit?
It's probably the reason only terrible meta threads are made, less anxiety if the threads are horrible to begin with.

>>8168680
Shit taste spotted.

>> No.8168685

As much as I enjoy the general thread as a good way to talk about untranslated eroge, it seems like threads dedicated to single VNs (usually translated ones) have decreased since the general thread came along and with them VN discussion as a whole.

Though I guess on-topic posting in general has decreased.

>> No.8168690

Most of the people browsing here exhaust discussion on a game upon its release, and there's not that many newcomers later that warrant having constant threads about games.
I personally like it this way over having threads with the same exact canned replies and pictures like I've seen in other boards.

The general goes slowly because only a few people can discuss untranslated games.

>> No.8168693

We're busy reading VNs

>> No.8168698

>>8168690
The whole "exhaust" discussion is a shitty excuse.
I could talk about stuffs I really enjoyed all days.
And you really think that having actual threads, even if some end up being shit, is worse than having NOTHING?

People who talk about all this "we only talk about VNs a few days after release" are just english only retards who actually don't enjoy VNs.

>> No.8168710

>>8168698
Or maybe the people who like to constantly repeat themselves are the real retards?

Do you actually see the state of /jp/?
I would rather have VN threads that repeat themselves rather than meta threads that repeat themselves.

>> No.8168733

>>8168710
Funny since /jp/ is pretty much one of the most repetitive board, it's pretty much always the same threads with the same posts.
Sure is a better situation.

I'll personally take nothing over threads like majikoi on /a/. I followed them for a while and literally 90% of replies is the same pictures, same catchphrases or people asking where to get the game or what they should do with an .iso file. Here I followed way fewer threads about it but most of those were interesting to read and actual discussion on plot points or comparisons between other game the author wrote, rather than just canned replies adapted to the heroine of choice.
If you like that style of posting great, I'm sure it can be fun if you're into that sort of thing, but there's plenty of other boards where you can find it, why must you force it here too?

>> No.8168793

>>8168777
It's not about one over the other anyways.
But at least if there are actually threads about VNs on a regular basis there is always the possibility than you'd find one that interest you.
But with no threads there is no possibility.

You only imagine the worse, stop being so anxious. This is /jp/ anyways, it can't get worse.

>But with no threads there is no possibility.

Another anon here.
We shouldn't forget that there is always the possibility of doing your own research instead of waiting for recommendations. Checking out vndb.org, or whatever.
Though I kinda see your point, I picked up at least a dozen of awesome titles reading our VN general threads.

We pretty much discussed everything that there is to discuss.

Type Moon? Muv-luv? Umineko? Ever17? Sharin? Done them. Of course there are other less popular VNs, but they don't get enough threads to warrants discussions.

What does the 1-star mean? I'm looking for sfw visual novels that I'll actually play on work (in b4 slacking off). Wanting to play Fate Zero, does it have any ero scenes?
