Creative people are 8 to 40 times more likely to be manic-depressive.

Then why is /jp/ so boring?

Because manic-depressive people are NOT 8 to 40 times more likely to be creative

>> No.8872588

>>8872586
exactly

you can't quantify "creative"

>> No.8872590

No time to be depressed if you are creative

No time to be creative if you are depressed

You don't get to be manic and claim you're a creative person.

That's not how hyperactivity works.

>> No.8873586

I'm about as creative as a wet dish cloth and I'm depressed. Does this mean I'm just unlucky?

You clearly don't know where creativity comes from. You need to be in a relaxed, removed state for creativity to flow, which in some cases is a state of depression.

For example, people are 30% more creative when drunk.

>> No.8874462

>>8874449
30%? What's the unit of creativity, then?

>> No.8874483

I'm depressed because I'm incapable of creating anything because I'm depressed.
What does that make me?

>> No.8874486

>>8874462
Creatons.
In SI it's newton seconds joules^-2

>> No.8874501

>>8874449

You clearly have never created anything.

Mild drunkeness is conducive to creativity because alcohol in low amounts has a disinhibiting effect.

Heavy drinking renders thought unintelligible and impulses shitty, and would actually be (except in probably rare souls) inconducive to creativity.

In a manic stage of bipolar, i'd venture to assume that being on the internet is the last thing one would do. And, if they would indeed do so, then it'd probably be autismal levels of rampant shitposting, because that's only the type of intellect and the extent of "creativity" that those that flounder around these sorts of arenas are capable of.

>> No.8874508

/jp/ sounds manic-depressive. Lots of wallowing in loneliness punctuated by shitposting with no valuable content.

I think we're just masochistic. I engage in flaming, shitposting and arguing against my better will, fully knowing it will have terrible results for myself and everyone involved.

/jp/ confirmed for manic

No, you're just stupid.

>> No.8874573

That makes sense to me. I get most creative when I'm pissed off. It gives me energy and purpose. I guess that's the 'manic' part. When I'm depressed I still feel creative but I lack motivation to actually do anything.

When my depression got to the point where I was considering suicide I started taking antidepressants. I stopped being manic but my creativity was lost as well. Even when motivated, I didn't get that high anymore when my art was coming out well. That didn't work out at all since being a graphic designer pays my bills, so I stopped taking antidepressants and slowly those creative feelings crept back. I just have to learn to cope with those suicidal days.
