It's really cute and actually shows developments in the romance department. The actual magical girl aspect starts off a little weak, but kicks it up a notch by the midpoint.

Most of the enjoyment is dependent on how much you like/tolerate Sumomo though.

A shame that the original doesn't have Flora's route, and neither the VN nor the anime has Julirsia at all.

Hell, the first time Flora had an h-scene was in the recent Prismatic Princess fandisk. And in the same fandisk, Sumomo was incorruptible by Chuchu, so they gave her a vanilla non-h doujinshi.

Finished Alice's and Sumi's routes in monobeno, started Natsuha's.
In terms of eroscenes the game turned out much more of a nukige for me than I thought, or maybe that's just Alice being too erotic.

Story wise... it's pretty interesting, and I love the setting, but both routes have felt a bit flat so far. Sumi's felt a bit better for me since I like the youkai themes. All those magic talks are a bit hard to follow at times, though. I'll have to see how the final route turns out.
I'm still overwhelmed by the detailedness and the sheer amount of CG, aswell as the overall prettyness of the game, the only downside is that the game engine itself seems to be a bit buggy. I've had the game crash twice on me after setting voice volumes, and there's small bugs here and there all over the place. At least nothing game breaking though.

Also, every game should have that "scenario slider" thing, it's awesome. They could've probably done without a normal save system alltogether.

Harumade, Kururu is such a strange title.
The common route is basically ero everywhere, it throw like 20 scenes in just 2-3 hours.
Yet passed the opening it genre shift hard into a sci-fi pseudo Cross Channel setting with fucked up characters and plot and barely no ero anymore.
It's not like it comes from nowhere though, the common route has a lot of foreshadowing, but it's definitely very weird.
Really interesting though.

So, turns out Natsuha's route is 10 chapters longer than the others because you get to read the whole prologue all over again, this time from her perspective. Now normally that wouldn't sound like a bad idea, but I'm halfway through already and there really wasn't any added value to speak of up to now: Dialogues are all the same, you only get her toughts in between. Could've aswell just skipped through. That's a bit of a cheap way to stretch the game's length.
I'm a bit disappointed, but maybe it'll get better in the second half of the prologue when they're not always together.

Almost finished with Harumade, Kururu.
I'll say it is the best eroge of April (at least scenario-wise) and pretty much one of the most interesting title I've seen this year.
At first glance it looks like a nukige, and for good reason since for the 23 ero scenes that the game contains 15 are seen in the pre-OP part that only last about 2 hours but this impression fades quickly, what appears then is a strong setting and story and interesting characters.

Though it's not like the "nukige" part is thrown away, it actually make a lot of sense in context.
This part of the game also manage to foreshadow things really well, rather than infodumping the readers about what the fuck is going on this part of the game reveal things little by little, sometime even in the most innocent scenes. For example the readers first learn a vital information about the characters when one of them lightly joke about it, it's not mentioned again so it's a big ??? for the people who paid attention.
All this help at building a sense of dread little by little which is pretty effective and pay off really well when the "true" story starts.

Anyways I'm trying to not spoil anything but anyone who want a strong scenario with some great heroines should try it.

I've been reading Grand Libra Academy, it's like a DaCapo game to be honest, and the plot is bananas.

Basically, as long as the writing is clear and concise without being overly wordy and descriptive, then I would definitely regard that as good writing. Of course this would depend on the story as well.
I don't think I have reached the level where I can appreciate the literary style by Shumon or Romeo yet, but I can definitely tell that they have a good command of the language and most of all, they don't make me fall asleep while reading.

Finished monobeno. The main story, that is, I still got some h scenes left to 'read' the next few days.
The overall impression turned out pretty well, mainly because of scenario, art, soundtrack and characters.
Story wise it could've been better. Or maybe the story could've been told a little bit better, since the idea behind it wasn't actually that bad.
Especially Natsuha's route ended really meh. "We finally fucked so everything's going to be alright now, yay!" That was kind of weird.
I especially liked Toukou for some reason, wish there had been a bit more of her.

Thanks to this I kind of feel like reading more stuff with youkai / japanese mythology once more. Probably going to read Aozora Gakko no Senseikun which I've had lying around for some time. Not going to expect much, though.

Okay, so I have been out of VNs for awhile now, but coming back to them. I am about to start to replay Tsuki-hime (haven't played it since when it came out [showingmyage.jpg]). Anyways, since I have been out of touch with VNs (and even otaku culture in general for awhile), I would like some recommendations on newer VNs/eroge that have certain specifications; I am looking for 2 types in particular:
(In both cases I want H scenes in them):

1) Games with sister routes in them. And what I really want, ideally, is TRUE sisterfucking, where the characters are blood related, not some "TEEHEHEHE I WAS ADOPTED AS A BABY SO ITS OKAY MANG!" shit. Or childhood friend that got asborded into the family bullshit.

2) I have yet to play a VN with a very nasty Yandere character, back when I used to play VNs and into anime a lot more, it wasn't even a term used (not even in Japan). So, I would like to experience a true, recent respresentation of this.

I know Japanese, so original is fine; I don't need translations.

The FUCKING OPENING has a spoiler, the credits have an unintrododuced character, the extra mode which unlocks after finishing one ending has sprites for spoiler characters and worst of all, you unlock the "true route" after clearing two specific (and most likely your two or three first) heroine endings out of 7 endings.

If you're gonna play Midori no Umi, by all fucking means use a walkthrough.

I think there is a normal happy ending for Michiru, then the True End route (not sure since I dropped the game after spoilering myself).

"これ以上望んで、別な道を探す" leads to true route, while the other one seems to lead to Haina's route, but you'd be better off with finishing her route and true end only after getting done with other heroines which is done by avoiding the "自分の記憶と憎悪を受け入れる" (three choices) before it. I think that or the former one unlocks after finishing twin/Sara routes.

I'm not 100% sure though so stick to the walkthrough.

I thought their route was okay. Not great (it really dissolved the whole mystery / horror feel of the game), but still good. Actually their route was the first one that made me apreciate "more than one heroine ends up with the protag" setting in visual novels. My heart pumped quite a bit when their H scene popped up.

Plus, no one can so "no" to this HNNGGGG.

Finished the trial of Futsuno Fantasy.
It was surprisingly long and basically told a complete story, though I guess this will be the common route.
The story is basically what happen when a last boss with common sense get thrown in a old school rpg, it was pretty amusing.

are you me? I finished the trial few hours ago too. it was suprisingly fun I have to admit, although the ammount you enjoy it has correlation to fact how much you have played old school jrpgs and can spot all the things it makes fun of.
I actually managed to like it a lot and it become probably my most waited thing at the moment of those titles that have release date announced and I had like zero interest in it before I palyed the trial. looking foward to play the rest and see how the plot will play out (although you can see the twists coming miles away, but still the trial managed to end in way I didn't except it to end) and how much more they can poke fun of the cliches.

It wasn't perfect but I had a good time with the trial and the last scene was pretty well made the protag getting a voice and a sprite during the last battle was a nice touch
But the trial really showed how fucked up the old school jrpgs are, especially for the "bad" guys, poor folk.

Finished Fortune Arterial - would rate it as a 7-7.5. After the first 5 fluffy routes it comes to true route which fell a little short of what it was setting up for (was hoping for a more forceful resolution given the hints in prior routes). Loose ends all tied up more or less.

Restarting Hello World since I forgot everything about it, preparing for delicious trainwreck ahead.
