Closest I've came to associating with a normal over the last few years was when I joined a guild on WoW and skyped with them.
Even that was really weird for me.
They would talk about normal shit like their jobs and when they asked me if I worked, I just lied and said I worked in a record shop.

They were really two faced too, they bitched about some guy in the guild over skype, while being nice to him in guild chat.
