How many of us do you think have gone to Gensokyo?

Such a terrible though ;-;

>> No.9535158

Shit, knowing all my /jp/ friends are there makes me want to go.

I imagine that among the veterans (I'm assuming you don't care much about the new guys) we have an annual drop-out rate of 5 - 10%, one fifth of which (1 - 2%) fatally.
/jp/ has been around since '08, so that would mean there's still about 65 - 80% of the old crew left. 4 - 8% are dead.
I don't know precisely how many people actually come here though, so you'd have to fill in the blanks.

Honestly, this sounds fairly accurate. No way to check, but nothing about it sounds unreasonable other than I think the non-fatal dropout seems a bit higher to me.

>> No.9536650

It's not terrible. We'll all join them eventually. Then we can have our true meetup.

>>9535487
To me it feels more like we have a dropout rate of 25% annually and there are at most 25% of people from the split left.

Shammy's still around.

Honestly, I don't think most of the people who left here went to Gensokyo.

I'd say a very, very small part of the userbase (~1%ish) may have attempted suicide at one point due to the lifestyle that lots of /jp/ers have, but a lot of people just move onto different things.

I know like three people who used to go to /jp/ all the time, but they're complete normalfag redditor trash now, it's a shame.

I can confirm that one /jp/er has successfully landed in Gensokyo!

>> No.9541028

Thanks for the trips congratulatory thing.

No, it wasn't me. I doubt you are able to go on /jp/ in Gensokyo, though.

>> No.9541032

>>9541028
Out of a morbid curiosity, who is this 'confirmed' /jp/er? Where's the proof?

>> No.9541033

>>9540987
But, I mean, honestly.

I'm sure a lot of the /jp/ userbase has considered suicide but would probably chicken the fuck out the second they were going to act on it.

I've had a lot of suicidal thoughts but considered them to be pointless to act on, because if i'm dead, I can't do fun things like play VN and post on /jp/ anymore, and that's no fun.

>> No.9541037

>>9541032
How can I prove it to you? I have no conversation logs with this person since everything was done on an IM.

IM with no convo logs? Interdasting. Anything in the archives? Like that guy in Oz who actually drank antifreeze and /r9k/ saved them?

>> No.9541056

>>9541044
I'm not projecting, I've seen this posted all the time in /jp/, and it's proven that when you try to commit suicide, your survival instinct kicks in and then makes it very mentally difficult.

>> No.9541058

I would think any /jp/ers who make it to wizard probably don't go on much longer after that.

>> No.9541060

>>9541053
Err ...
Not really?

I'm not one of those people who save IM conversations. It was a while back too. You don't have to believe me or anything, you know.

Would you like to tell us more about your severe clinical depression?

>> No.9541076

>>9541068
I'm not really severely clinically depressed though, or at least I don't think so.

I'm pretty sure suicidal thoughts every now and then are totally normal, but I talk myself out of them pretty easily, so they're not really a problem.
