What is your preferred site for buying Japanese related things? Whether it be anime, manga, figurines, magazines, gadgets or just random shit from Japan.

I know Yuuki-Cha for tea, J-List for random shit, PlayAsia for games.

agadio is better for tea, just sayin'.

AmiAmi is really good. Here in New York City I got to Kinokuniya or Book Off because they usually carry a lot of imported video games, anime, LN's, game magazines, figurines, art books and such.

I only really go to each about once a month to see what they carry has changed.

If you want just pure and not overpriced imported games, I suggest 8 Bit & Up in the East Village.

Are there any online stores you would suggest for buying older Japanese games? Famicom and up, I mean. Other than eBay.

For about a decade now I have literally just used Ebay, Amazon and Yahoo Auctions. Stores here in NYC have contained some amazing gems (sealed Mega CD 2 anyone?)
but overall it's severely overpriced at the main game stores in the city.

Your best bet these days is to check local game stores in your area or via retro game forums. Hell, I would even wager just taking a check at your local craigslist would reveal some potential things you would want to buy.

I should add that most of my FC/SFC/SS/PS1/PS2/PCE and such games were either bought in bulk or I bought separate (rare games like Rondo of Blood).

All right, thanks for the help.

My best advice is to just pay the best you can afford for something you want. Things are just going to get more and more expensive these days and it is best not to wait out on something that you want to import or buy the most.

Will do. Some of the stuff I want seems pretty affordable right now on eBay, so I think I'll go ahead and start buying. Thanks again.
