Are there any people that majorly influenced him that I need to look into first, like Kant with Schopenhauer? Or do I just go straight in? Where do I start?

I've tried to understand the fall of this board (relatively speaking, since it has always been shit on some level) in the last year or so. I think part of what happened is that a link in the chain of /lit/'s heritage was not placed, leaving the board to be usurped by people who rather than thinking there's actually a reason or purpose to why things become memes meme literature for the sake of it. Or at least that's the hypothesis I'm working with now, something like it. Maybe I'll post about it more sometime.

>nostalgic for a late 19th century bourgeoisie society, which to be fair is probably the comfiest level of human existence yet to be reached by any culture.

It really does seem like the comfiest way to have ever lived.

If intelligence can be predicted via polygenic score, including one's propensity to immigrate to places with better economic opportunities and educational level, does philosophy still have any value? Intelligent people become scientists. Us dumb-dumbs come to literature and other fictional stuff. Is /lit/ actually the dumbest board? Are the societal goes set by intelligent people actually good? Or are people's stem propensities just masturbation in the era of reproductibility and industrial thinking?

It's been 4 months since I've graduated from university with a degree in English... Currently working 8 hours a week as an SAT tutor... Still live at home with parents... Want to write more, but I find myself spending most of my time roaming /lit/ and doing fuck all until 4 am every night. That being said, what careers have you gone and pursued, or are currently in pursuit of, with your related degrees? Any suggestions for a career that doesn't involve copy editing, proof reading, blogging, and worst of all, teaching? If you have no suggestions, and are feeling the same way, feel free to commiserate.

At point she claims it's "inconceivable" that the Romans had an organized militia in the earlier days of the republic, without any further elaboration.
At another point she she claims there's no way they could have planned multiple conquests, because they didn't have maps.

I wrote on Keits' Ode to Psyche before. I don't know if I could write about the same thing but just with a different author. The tiítle was:

What role does virtue have in Kants ethics? Mostly based on The Metaphysics of Morals.
Is my only way of doing it ctrl+f 'virtue'?
Anything I could check?

Hiro, I don't think 4chan would become better with a fanfic board. Just look at this thread, there are hardly any (I haven't spotted any at all) who are interested. So, from within 4chan there's not much interest.
If anything, making a fanfic/creative writing board will attract even more people from outside 4chan instead of help the ones already here. Now whether that's good or bad is a whole other discussion, but personally I think we'd be better off without newcomers for the time being.

Holy shit, I'm cringing so fucking hard.
I couldn't get past 10 seconds of it. Maybe it's some therapeutic exercise that intentionally embarrasses them? Because I don't see how anyone can look themselves in the mirror after doing slam poetry.

For real. No memes, /lit/ nonsense, etc.

I can't bear the shame of wasting a semester's tuition and societal and parental pressures are forcing me to attend college instead of learning a trade anyways

even if I attend university if I happen to choose a major that isn't STEM I will never hear the end of it from my parents until they die and they might not even be willing to pay for it since they're under the impression that any major that doesn't "guarantee a job" (I know STEM doesn't guarantee a job anymore than anything else in this economic climate) is a waste of time and money

this wouldn't be that big of a problem but I really do not have the math skills required to succeed in anything of that nature

I think at this point my only option is death, it seems preferable to living a life of shame
